Belt poping off...

Well since driving my car for 500 miles since rebuilding it, i am on my second belt.

The first one shredded on me at the track, which i thought was due to a bracket hitting the belt.

The bracket is out of the way now, and the other day and today it jumped again.

It only does it under hard acceleration.

what might it be?
Im thinking tensioner, or misaligned pulley's.

Any thing else it might be?

Thanks

Likely pulley misalignment, I can tell with my eye, you can usually watch the belt and see it start to flutter when throttling...........

That is a great idea, Ill bring my green laser over and check them...

This would be a good idea if it were a 5.0L!
But since its a 4.6L S/Ced Cobra there is no room at all to even see all the pullies....
You could probly see most if you layed under the car, but with the way the belts are flying off you would have to have alot of ***** laying that close to a belt screaming at 3000RPM or whatever LOL

^You're telling me that a centri blower blocks ALL the pullies-I doubt it.
You really don't even need the car to be running and 3000rpm is a bit excessive. What I was referring to is watching the belt as you give the engine "shots" of gas because the belt is either gonna come off on accel or decel, just line yourself up with the acc. drive and look at the belt departure angles on every pulley (try both-car running and off), you can see there will be more gap/angle on 1 or more which would likely be the problem. How 'bout a pic? (if you can fit a camera).

I think he was being more sarcastic, it is a pain to see, a few of the idlers and pulleys , but it can be done.
Will take a look at it tomorrow.

Thanks for the help guys!
