Question ????CAI's????

alright im seeing these no name brand CAI's on ebay and some mustang websites for half the price as compared to name brand ones.. im just confused as to whats the difference in between the no name brand ones and as say compared to BBK,MAC and other name brand ones.. they say that it does the same job as the named ones.. does it really matter which one u get i know that u dont get much or any hp gains but whats the differnce in them.

Buy a name brand one that is probably more reputable. Some things off e-bay, that are generic, may be incomplete in some small way and leaves you in the cold to complete. At least if it's namebranded you have a chance to acquire locally with-out the hassles. My 2 cents anywho.....

Like Tim says: ya gets whats ya pay for......

Agree w/Tim too.

I went a different way though...I had a plate C&C'd and bolted my 12" K&N directly.

K&N, Steeda, and JLT are the only brands I would really use. C&L makes decent kits if you throw the meter housings in the garbage.

Stay away from CAI's that have bends close to the mass air meter (MAC, BBK, etc). MAC does not offer a straight shot style CAI, which has no bend at all but most people here know my opinion on MAC products

I am using a Steeda CAI on the Mach and no issues at all. No stalling or cutting out. Works good, not sure about the gains but it also looks good to boot. give it a try.

i like the look of the mac CAI that I currently have on my car. Although I wouldnt bother with one on a stock n/a car other than for the looks.

Considering they bascially use the same filter contruction, you're paying for the name on the box.

I had one, then not even a full years use,i ditched it ,and got a K&N air filter instead, and my stang feels better then it did with the "HOT" air intake b.s on her.You could waste your $$'s on better mods ,unless you want the bling .
If you do your search on many different boards like stangnet,or Modular Depot, you will see different revues on this products.I know i will never get another.Metal holds heat, the factory rubber piece doesn't.You should touch one of these so called cold air intakes after a short trip of a cruise,it's like touching an oven .And if you do go with one, like Meister said, stay away from anything that has a bend before/near the mass air,it screws with it .
