HyperTech
Thought I'd vent a little (and maybe warn others, too!). I recently bought a 96 GT (sweet car, I'm having a blast in it so far) that came pre-programmed by the previous owner with a HyperTech Programmer III. Before taking the car for dealer service, I was advised to set the computer back to stock tuning. Halfway through the re-tune, the HyperTech unit froze up and gave me an "Error 6B - call HyperTech immediately" message. The 1-800 number provided went to an answering machine and no one ever returned the call from HyperTech. The Mustang started (barely) with all the warning lights on and chugging black smoke. Thankfully, a second attempt to re-program with the HyperTech unit was successful and the Mustang now works great - still no call back from HyperTech, and I haven't noticed any negative changes in terms of power or performance since switching back to stock settings.
HyperTech - from my perspective - is junk.
