Got my SCT Xcalibrator dissapointed!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Purchased my Xcalibrator from Dallas Mustang today and I do not noticed that much of a difference!!
It came with a 93 octane program that they said they tweaked from the base program that SCT provides. It still feels sluggish on the throttle response and no noticable seat of the pants difference.
Anyone have a xtr file that they could email me to try? I would email you the one that I have for you to try out.
Only mods are k&n filter, sct and hydro carbon removed.

What should I do??
Please help!!
Thanks,

This was from the above post just curious what everyone else had heard?

This was another

PART 388-9300 Xcalibrator From Steeda Autosports we are direct wholesale distributors for this product through Steeda /SteedaCAI?

No shot we actually have pointed customers in Pauls direction at times..

If you don't want to discuss this topic openly like other forums I suggest you create another thread or suggestions to keep this Forum moving and interesting.

Taking a shot at us for posting/pasting the concerns of other enthusaists is well

Save your energy and post something interesting about Mustangs!

If you are disappointed send it back! ( I know not you)
I would try and get my money back! but maybe thats not a option???

I have seen many threads supporting flash tuners and trashing them. I'm not convinced that any of them are worth the 500 plus they want for them.

In the end if the only way the difference can be felt or seen is through a dyno then I would want my money back too. I would want to FEEL a difference.

Maybe that tune is not right for that setup??? I have read exactly the opposite for predators, I don't think it's the product as much it is the WRONG tune for that car. Best to use what product your local tuner uses, that way you can get it tweeked. Out of the box tunes do not seem like the way to go for any product.

Being a Diablo dealer I'm sure you know what is involved with tuning???

This thread can turn into a huge debate and in the end we will be no further ahead (I think)

BTW I do not own a flash tuner but have extensively researched them on many other forums. They all end the same way 50 50 split. Some like diablo some like SCT and some don't like either.

If you want some more reading... read this:

Lots of tuning discussion here:

Happy reading!

Peace,
Cheers,
Roger over and out.

Your not talking about the Xcalibrator II are you...cause it also datalogs which the X one does not...From what I read from the X-II I cant wait to get my hands on one

We have guys who bought the Hypertech when it came out...$459.00 and you cant programme it and it takes 25min to remove the flash...you dont know what crap is till you own one of these.

The Focus of this Thread was enthusaist feedback on a Product. regardless

Since the inception of this forum or since we have started posting..we have always stated use what your closest tuner uses.

IF you READ the post you would acknowledge this..

Furthermore as Bizness states "Hypertech ..and you cant programme it and it takes 25min to remove the flash...you dont know what crap is till you own one of these."

It does not matter what you use..just don't expect miracles from a generic tune" this was the focus....

See your Tuner.. some great tuners use SCT Ken Bjonnes MD Forums as posted.

We have the ability to use and sell both.. What we perfer means nothing " its what the customer wants"

A properly tuned SCT or any tuner would have to make power, it all depends on who tunes the damm thing. How could it not make power? Send it back to get reflashed if it isn't working. Bump up the timing on any car, and adjust the A/F ratio and your guaranteed at least 10 to 15 rwhp.

For example, I installed the Steeda T/A and gained quite a bit of power, especially down low. Since a properly tuned SCT or any type of tuner does basically the same thing plus has the ability to change the A/F, it would have to work.

I have tuned about 30 2005 Stangs and have had nothing but praise and compliments....not knocking DM, but it may be the tune.

The flasher is just a tool, it is the brilliance of the tune that makes it work.
