Come on guys....let's keep it clean even though you are defending me and the products I use. I am sure they meant no harm in the post

I don't think this thread is about you. It's about a bad tune from a product out of the box.

The unit it self has NOTHING to do with the results that customer experienced....plain and simple. It is just a device to deliver the tune...same as the predator. If the tuner would have put that tune on the predator, the results would be the same.

With the Xtreme Tuning software, there is nothing the Predator can do that the XCAL cant...and wait until the Xcal II comes out....

Since the inception of this forum or since we have started posting..we have always stated use what your closest tuner uses.

IF you READ the post you would acknowledge this..

Furthermore as Bizness states "Hypertech ..and you cant programme it and it takes 25min to remove the flash...you dont know what crap is till you own one of these."

It does not matter what you use..just don't expect miracles from a generic tune" this was the focus....

See your Tuner.. some great tuners use SCT Ken Bjonnes MD Forums as posted.

We have the ability to use and sell both.. What we perfer means nothing " its what the customer wants"
In searching the net this afternoon there are also lot of guys who praise the X...
Obviously there using the X-I.
The abilities of the X-II make it far superior then anything I've seen on the market today. I know our guys with the Hypertech will be sending them to e-bay very soon. Cant wait to see if the X-II lives up to its hype!

I was thinking of getting this tuner but again found out that they were coming out with something new. On another board they are Diablo crazy and that is all they talk about. They all love em. I am not too confident in any out of the box hand held tuner as the basic tune does nothing more than advance your timing. That being said I purchased one. I knew right off the bat I caould not do any changes to air or anything that would adjust for a tune. I used it to change my gear and that was about it. The tune is on the car but I do not think I can really tell a difference. I used the 91 octane but the car was already 91 octane.

Anyway, with all the hand held tuners out there it seems for user adjustability the Diablo tuner has lots of perameters that can be changed/adjusted. Their counterpart has that also. The Xcalibur does not have things you can change but it allows you to hold more than one tune plus come with a factory tune.

Like many have mentioned the out of the box tune sux. If you want it done correctly go see a tuner.

If I was in this business I would see what customer demand was and try to stock both. This is just and observation but it is funny when you go to the bigger boards and someone says wow this diablo/SCT tuner is great. They all rush out and get on th eband wagon. A few things trickle down and now I am reading this is not working and the website tune # blah blah blah is corrupt. Crazy electronics. Leave it to the pros to tune. I just need a place to store it, wow the Xcalibur can do that for me. Nice.......... Peace.

I am not trying to Start a war or anything, or trying to sound like I know all (sometimes it comes out this way, which is not intnetional) but this is my take on the situation and opinions (I am sure the same go for the Predator stuff) and I am not going after anyone...just responding to comments as they come up:

If a SCT dealer loads a "generic" tune, this is no where near a basic tune that just increases timing...this is a full custom dyno tune by Chris Johnson and Jerry W of SCT.....SCT and Superchips Inc (producers of generic hand held flashers such as a 1725) are not the same company, do not sell the same products or use the same tunes.

With XtremeTune Software (free to download), the Xcalibrator can basically do everything the Predator can and can hold up to 3 tunes and the factory tune....you just get the file from your tuner and tweak it on the PC rather than the unit itself.

Even though customer demand is high for Diablo, we have stayed away from their products for various reasons....I have nothing against the Predator and the unit's themselves, but I find the SCT Dealer software to be far superior in addition the guys at SCT are top notch...I was even down there in June....the software and skills the tuner has makes the result great...the Flashers are just a delivery device for the tune

There are so many debates about which unit to get and they both basically do the same thing....this is my reason for saying find the person you want to tune your vehicle and use the hadrware they sell....you believe in them to tune the vehicle for you, so you should trust their choice in hardware/software.

You will find the people who are Diablo or SCT crazy but I think they are more tuner crazy and love what the tuner has done to the vehicle (which happens to be on a SCT or Diablo device)

Just my .02

I will now put on my flame suit
