Steeda CAI Install Done
 

My son and I just installed my Steeda CAI today on the Mach 1. Very easy to install and fitment was good. I would recommend putting the base and the filter in before the heat shield. The instructions say to install everything and than fit into the engine bay. I would put the base in, than attach the air filter and than the heat shield. Worked great once we did it that way. Other way was too big and bulky and did not know if was seated correctly. One note when connecting the shaker inlet tube, becareful attaching as there is not much play in the tube even though it is an accordian style design. MAF screen is out, MAF to base seems like a good sealing fit. MAF seems clocked back from 12:00 to 11:00 according to pre-stock markline on the MAF. Before it sat at the 12 o clock position now with new base it sits at 11.
Fired the car up and no issues. Ran it for about 15 mins and than ran it around the streets up through all the gears. No stalling or other issues to date.

Can't notice any hp/feel difference as it was the first time the car has been out since December. (Glad to have taken it for a scoot today.) Looks okay installed and once engine bay is cleaned tomorrow, will take some pics.

Overall I'm glad I did the Mod and really enjoyed spending time with my 14 year old son whom helped me install it. (Tonight we battle ESPN NHL 2K5 on Xbox)

I put one on my GT in January.

Like most CAI's, there might not be a big HP gain but it is all part of the "air in" mod package. One thing I certainly notice is the loud sucking sound now associated with throttle apllication. :biggrin:

One other thing I did was to polish the brushed S/S heat shield. Added nice bling bling to the engine bay, looks really sharp.

Only complaint I had was that the 2 small pieces of adaptor hose were missing and it was a bit of a pain trying to get them, so I went and got 2 lengths of blue silicone heater hose. Looks a lot better.

January brrrrrrr. :) You really did the cold air thing. The Blue silicone work around you did would look good! :)

I agree on the whole air in thing about not much hp but all adds up.

I like the inlet tubes on the GT's, they look really nice. The steeda CAI uses all the stock plastic from the factory for tubing. Nice just the same once cleaned up.

Someone was telling me that I could use an inlet pipe from a 99 or 01 Cobra instead of the stock one that I am using now. It would get rid of that ugly resonater box that is on there. You can see form the pics. Anyone know anything about this??? Inquiring minds need to know?? Thanks all
