change fuel pump and front brakes, struts, sway bars to 87 rear end engine swap is easy if you have time and tools don`t cheap out on gaskets or fluids. Wiring ecu can be confusing if never done any swaps. 87 don`t need e-test hmmm vin swap what thats not legal.

your gonna need the tranny cross member to run the duals as well.
I assume you have the EEC, wiring harness, etc..

I think so, the 87 runs right now I'm assuming everything I need is in that car....I am new to the mustang scene I've always liked them but never had the opportunity to get one.

you only have to change the engine wire harness, your dash harness and other wires will work with the 5.0 engine harness, it all just plugs in easily.
it's also a good idea to just drop the front k-frame and swap that out with the 87 5.0 one so you'll have the bigger 11" brakes. I fyou have any questions just shoot me a e-mail stnggy1@hotmail.com i've done this swap it's not hard at all, and there's quite a few things you don't have to change.

I've done this swap too, and everyone has good advice so far, and in the big picture, aside from being time-consuming, it is a relatively easy swap. Here's my advice, and please learn from it - take pics, and lots of them as you start to remove and disconnect things...label wires, hoses, etc...you'll be glad you did. Good luck.

What I would like to know is how is the 4 banger EEC gonna be able to run the 302??
Or are you saying to just take the engine bay harness and not the interior harness....

Sorry you made it sound a little confusing and could easily taken both ways

To make things much easier, you could just swap VIN tags LOL ok don't do that j/k
Good luck on your swap please post pics as you do your build.

what i did was took the whole engine wiring harness, including the EEC from the donor car that had the V8...it's easy to do, and guarantees (sort of...) that everything will be operating as it should...VIN swaps should be legalized for a fee....soooooo much
easier ;-)
