5.0 pinging

Help! I have a 95gt and when I get totally on it it pings pretty bad 1st time was reg gas switched to 91 octane still happened,checked timing all good still pinging heard that carbon deposits can cause that so now trying fuel injector&cylinder head cleaner. any other info would be very welcome

hey, you might want to try sunoco 94, whats your timing at 94-95 computers are picky!!

Well check the timing again.
Was this just with the hot weather we are having?
U can also check the plugs and see if the car is running lean.

pull the plugs, replace them, gap them a bit tighter...

until we know the timing, we can't help you though.

Timing should be 10 degrees. If it's 14 degrees, you need 94 octane.

thanks dudes the pinging is gone thanks to quaker state f.i. cleaner one dose in a green aluminium bottle it works. after letting it do it's job for the last tank last night was tryout time and a vast improvement in acceleration it even spun 2nd gear(auto).I guess it really was owned by a little old lady before I got it in april. wow a honest used car salesman who knew!

With 14 you need 91, not 94, but 94 leaves a nice cushon.
