95 GT Runs Hot!!
Hey guys I have a question as to where my temp gauge should be, once the car is fully warmed up? I thought normally it should be at the mid-point, or slightly under, but mine climbs up to over 3/4's of the way. I talked to another 95 stang owner in town, and he tells me they normally run hot, but this scares the crap out of me. I don't want to blow er up! Can anyone help me? Is this normal? firejump:

It should never past the mid point of the gauge!Could be the T stat!
|
^^^ i agree, thermostate starting to go.
check for any leaks. :tup |
Ok, I should have added this on the original post, but the rad has just been replaced, along with t-stat, and had a rad flush done too, but this did not rectify the problem. Wondering if it could be something with the fan?
|
Well if the fan isn't kicking on,that would be another cause,or maybe the water pump, but that is a maybe,or you got air in the cooling system after replacing the rad,and T stat from not properly burping it so to speak.

Thanks man, appreciate the help. I will be at the shop tomorrow, and get at it. Have to get the stang ready for summer!
|
I got a 94, it only runs maybe 1/2 way.
Either you need to put a 180* Thermostat in, OR you need to replace your Coolant Temp Sensor! Do you have a air lock in your cooling system? this will also cause issues. |
Most 94/95's have this issue. Depending on the miles you'll see a nice improvement if you burn a new computer program. Better fuel economy and runs cooler.

what would happen if it never went past 1/3 . i cant get it any hotter .
|
check your rad cap sounds dumb seen it happen check and change parts water pumps etc. and it ends up being the rad cap cheap and easy to check/change
