boss intake install

I just installed a Boss 302 intake , 85 mm.BBK TB, JLT CAI and a SCT X4 tuner with custom tune from BAMA. I didnt use the install kit and just ran a fuel line and eliminated the purge valve. Now my car has an erratic idle. Anyone else have similar mods or have the same problem with the Boss intake.

remove the BBK throttle body and put the stock one back on...if you can on the 5.0

the BBK throttle bodys are well known for having issues

Don't do it. Don't make me list the reasons why.

I'd like to here that list, and btw I've heard that they crack if you run them when it's too cold out?

Would we have enough space here to list it all? :)

You've got my interest, I have always heard great things about Procharger.

Ahhhhhhh!

Ok, ok

Yes, the Procharger is GREAT! I love the power. What they fail to tell you is that it is NOT a bolt on kit.

You have to be ready to hack, cut and bend lots of things to make the kit work. then once its tuned, you start realizing where all the weak points in your car is, like clutch slipping, posi clutches burning out, tearing up motor mounts. Oh did I mention the 2200.00 fuel system upgrade to keep up with the demand of 20 PSI? LOL

Then you learn about heat soak and have to buy an 800 dollar water meth kit.

Then you go to the track and run quicker than 11.5 ......here comes a 6 point roll cage.

I guess all I can give for advice is this. Make sure you are very ready to take your car to the next step before putting one of these on your car.

Is it a street car? ummmm not really, I can still drive it on the street, but its not a daily driver anymore. Every time I boost I wonder if this is the time the charge piping will pop off again and leave me on the side of the road. Which is why I now carry a plethora of tools to accommodate road side breakdowns. This includes a glove box full of sparkplugs.

Don't get me wrong...I do love it. But with more boost comes more problems. And if your stang is your only ride, I would NOT recommend a blower install, at least not a D-1SC running 20 pounds.

But in my mind why would I drop the cash on something smaller like the P-1SC only to be not satisfied with 8 pounds. But I have an addictive personality and every winter I am trying to install something to make this thing go faster.

SO be warned good people...

Why did I do it...because RACECAR.

As for them cracking in cold weather, no clue as my car is made of sugar and never sees rain let alone snow and below 0 temperatures.

Hahaha I see what you are saying now.

No issues here, and have same set up as you. Didn't use an install kit either. My BBK did come with the wrong length bolts tho, that was a piss off.
