I have an 87 gt 5.0 abd i got it the guy befor me put on 2 1/2 pipes and glass packs sounds kinda mean but must be changed. My question it should i keep them or change to a new exaust. I like them but i have read that to keep the crisp good sound they need to be changed every year to 2 years. Any ideas would be great

Sean, I've got an 87 LX 5.0...it has Mac Long Tube headders, Prochamber H-pipe, Flowmasters, and 3.5" stainless tips. I think it sounds awesome! It sounds like a 'Stang, but a little deeper more angry kind of sound...have had lots of compliments on it.

 

You can't go wrong with installing Flowmaster mufflers or MAC. Both sound sweet!!!

 

agreed, diggy's stang sounds perfect.

 

I have a full MAC set up including a prochamber. sounds real nice.

 

glass packed aren't the best and you don't get that deep low rumble from them like you would from stright pipes or flowmaster.

 

Flowmaster..would be my first chioce, great sound, great performance..

IMHO get ride of the glass packs!!
