Exhaust ? on stock 5.0L
a friend of mine told me that the fox stang came from factory with 4 cats? is that true?
does anyone have a picture of the whole exhaust system on a stock 5.0L?
i want to see a pic cause the car i bought has a full magnaflow exhaust system with no cats...and i dont want to get screwed by the MTO or police if they pull me over and see no cats. but i also dont want to have to put 4 cats back on, thats just rediculous.
has anyone ever been pulled over by the police or mto to look at ur exhaust?

Mustangs in your year came with two pre heaters ( 2 way cats ) which are closer to your headers. followed by 2 cats ( 1 way ) that would be closer to the middle of the car.
Looks like this
I've been running a prochamber for 2 years now and a Mac Offroad H-pipe. ( No cats )
My E-test is up in a few months. i'll put the stock mid-pipe back in and i'm going to add some cats to the prochamber and some heat shields to make it look like pre-heaters. It's overkill but if I do get pulled over. I'll be happy that I won't have a fat ticket. I've heard they are around $400. then you have to get your car legit and have it e-tested again. there is another $100
If you are going to spend time at the track... or it's a daily driver. it's a good idea to have cats as I think year after year. the police and MTO will get more strict. I think there are people on this board would work for the MTO, MOE, or the police department that could give some more info on this.

I run the stock h-pipe open at the track, take a look at my website....best 13.2 @102 with the E6 heads, the 4 cats give you the back pressure to maintain low end tq, which get's you off the line faster. You'll lose that with an off-road H-pipe, unless you buy a very restrictive set of mufflers, but that's all just extra weight, my buddy Schlodes ran the stock H-pipe with straight pipes (no muffs) and some nice tail pipes....was extremely quiet and VERY quick. His best was a 13.1@102.74 if I remember right. He then went to equal legth headers off-road x-pipe and ended up going slower TOO much exhaust for a STOCK 89 long block, with the usual bolt ons.
I'm hoping to hit grand bend for one more outting with the E6s now that I have a my rebuild trac-loc. Wish I had some slicks but at GB instead of where i alsways go, I'll hook on my 10 year old ET Streets

Ive been pulled over by the ministry of the enviroment and they wacked me with a $350 fine They dident get me on cats but they did look under the hood and found about half the emisions equipment that i removed over the years. My mustang is an 82 , so by changing the heads intake and carb i had to lose most of that stuff. With your car being fuel injected you should be able to maintain all your emision stuff and go with a nice high flow cat pipe that the mto should have no problem with.
