Head swap question

hey guys,
i've got access to a set of E7TE's for $50. I'd like to get them ported and put them in my '86, but they're off a 1990 GT. Will they fit in the '86 GT?

Thanks Richard. wasn't gonna do heads just yet, but these came up. i saw a flow chart online comparing flow figures for E7's vs. GT40's, stock and ported on each, and E7's held up pretty good. so figured i'd pick up this set for $50 while they're available and get em ported. then i can do my intake, roller rockers and heads all at the same time.

thanks again for the response. cheers

No problem, yes they are a decent head with proper porting, good luck with the project.

I hear there is a bump in the E7's that if you take it down you'll get more power/flow.

Removing the bump helps, but unless you can port them yourself its not really worth it, you will have almost as much in them as a used set of aluminum heads and they wont flow nearly as well. I think they are worth putting on in your case, just spend as little cash as you can doing it.

I agree with the poster above. Spending money on E7's to get the flow will be costly. Its better to find a set of used Edelbrocks that everybody is ditching for the AFR's.

Unless of course you can score a wicked deal on GT40's or something. I got a set of professionally ported GT40's with upgraded valve springs, stainless valves....etc. Ready to bolt on for $700.00 a few years back, have been very happy with them.
