The gas cap was obviously tested, but nobody (at a couple different places) looked underneath the car.

Here is the official testing guide:

http://www.driveclean.com/driveclean...uide_2003.html

It says that the emissions equipment cannot be modifed and that a vehicle with catalytic converters that has run leaded gas must have the cats replaced. Its interesting to note that NOWHERE in the document does it state that the vehicle must actually be inspected for these things, only that the vehicle will be run on a dyno and its emissions analyzed.

Many places apparently don't look, as Flyntt also said. I think it's mostly because there is no money to be made in e-testing, many places hire the least expensive/knowledgeable people to run the machine and pressure them to do it as quickly as possible. Drive Clean does rotine audits, and passes audit vehicles through for testing, the previous shop I worked at had been fined before for failing to test a fuel cap on an audit vehicle. If I do the test on your car, I'll be looking underneath and opening the gas door, but it's pretty unlikely, as I don't really do them very often anymore. :teeth:

#3-you don't need 4 cats, just 2, as long as they're 3-way cats, factory Ford uses 2-1way cats and 2-2way cats.
#4-if you don't run cats, you will smell fuel from the tails whenever it's ruinning, wanna smell my car????
#5-come e-test time, I re-install my factory H, and go.

2way cats ,3 way cats whats the diff.I have a high flow catted h with 2 cats in it.Love the sound and with an F303 cam flew through my e-test.

The diff is, a 2way cat only works for cleaning up 2 gases like HC and NOX, then a 1way cat is also needed to clean up the HC portion, whereas a 3way cat does all 3, yours are 3way cats.

Sounds like some of you guys are having a tough go. Thats too bad because not all of Ontario is maditory e-testing. Depends where you registered your car. They don't e-test around here. Can't get no one to do it.... Imagine the possibilties.
