pros/cons of turndowns
hi i wanted to get rid of my old looking tailpipes and wanted to put some turndowns after the mufflers. what are some pros and cons and is it legal? thanks.:tup

Not legal in Ontario, the pipes need to end within a few inches of the edge of the bodywork, either at the back or sides. And it will likely be loud as hell in the car.

I had Mac Pro dumps on my 95 GTS with off road h pipe and long tubes. It was loud in the car and stunk sometimes and I'm pretty sure every panel in the car buzzed and rattled at idle but it sounded great. It's not as loud outside the car as it would be with tail pipes.

I like that idea lol

Turn downs are certainly illegal. Had a peeler ticket me with 'improper mufflers' years ago. Car sounded bad ass but due to the dumps being before the axle you also get hit by closer to the nose exhaust :p
Put a regular exhaust on it or remote dumps if you really need that sound but wanna be able to be legit. |
Plus I also heard that the hot exhaust fumes boil the gas in the gas tank since their right under....not sure if its true.
