Starting prob,

Hi everybody I just joined the clup and I;m really happy to be here. I drive A 95 Mustang GT 5 Spd and she gets up and moves pretty good. I just installed a MSD Blaster Tfi Coil,Cap & rotor it made a nice infrovment. However I still have a bit of a problem starting her up after its warmed up:? Does anybody know what it might be.

Thanks, Rob :)

How is it hard to start...does it roll over ok but not fire, or does it roll over slowly?

1low03gt 08-31-2011 04:28 PM

Can you give specifics like roddy mentioned.

Whitelion95GT 08-31-2011 07:16 PM

[B][I][COLOR="Blue"]Yes she rolls over slowly.

1low03gt 08-31-2011 09:48 PM

Maybe the starter solenoid starting to go, or the starter is getting too hot. Similar issue has happened to me with past vehicles.
Just going by what you just described.

Whitelion95GT 09-01-2011 02:09 PM

Yes, I have been told the same from the guys as Lordco. How long does a starter last? I'm sure its the orginal starter.

Thanks, Whitelion

SNAKEBITE 09-01-2011 05:28 PM

I would hazard to guess it depends on usage??

Red Pony 09-01-2011 06:15 PM

...and manufacturer. Replaced many starters and fuel pumps, all on GM's.

The original can last up to 10 years without issues. The remanufactured ones on the other hand, don't last that long.

ChadStang 09-03-2011 01:00 PM

I agree that it's probably a bad starter. If you take it to a shop they can do a starter draw test and tell you for sure but if it's cranking slow only when hot I can't see it being anything else.

Whitelion95GT 09-03-2011 06:03 PM

Thanks for all the input, I will get a starter & celinoid on Tues."""

Thanks, Whitelion.

Yes,I installed a rebuilt starter just the other day & the teck said it was the original starter. He said I was lucky to get 15 years out of the old starter. She now starts up like a champ, I though she started up good when cold but the differance is amazing.

Thanks, Whitelion.

Glad you got it all fixed up!:tup

Me too but alot of people sure don't like them. At the time it was pretty rare to see 17" wheels

Yes, Ok for now but I want to put 5 spoke stainless. I just got my Mustang back from the body shop, Had 1/4 window side scoops put on and painted the same colour. It looks like a fastback now.
