Sticky Tach

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone else has had a problem along these lines. When I am driving the car the tach is fine up to 3000 rpm, however it will not go beyond that. When I really get on the gas it will only go to about 2000 rpm and will not go beyond. Thinking it may be a ground problem?

Also I have a pegged fuel gauge. Wondering if this is the same sort of thing, a ground or maybe a jammed float.

Any information or experiance anyone has on these issues is appriciated.

No problems here but maybe someone can help you. Hopefully it's a small issue

Man, I really hate electrical gremlins. Considering the fact your car was sitting dormant in that barn for a period of time, I think you're on the right track with the ground. Beyond that, I'm not much help, other than to say good luck.

Thanks guys, got the same kind of problem with a pegged fuel gauge too. Guess I'm just in for a lot of wire chasing and diagram reading.

Ohh man .... you owe me a beer for sure!

I've got 34 pages of the most detailed wiring diagrams that you've ever seen for your Mustang - direct from Ford. To boot they are in PDF format so you can open it right up on your computer!

P/M me your email address and I'll fire it off to you. (I don't know how to post a .pdf file on the forum. Once I figure out how, I'll post the .pdf's for all the years I have).
