want more power, where to start?

hey all,

lately i've been wanting to get a little more punch out of my car but have no clue where to start.

i have mostly exhaust work done, ie: headers, flowmasters, x pipe. the a/c pump was removed from the car and everything else is pretty much stock.

where do i start to really get my stang moving!! thanks:tup

also im not really on a budget but i also dont want to break the bank too much:D

CRASH 08-31-2011 09:16 PM

How much do you plan on spending?

SNAKEBITE 09-01-2011 05:48 PM

s/c ftw

johnny5 09-01-2011 05:58 PM

i like to do stuff the old way. Heads, cam, intake. Maybe bump compression up (do not do if you plan on boost later on)....

ChadStang 09-02-2011 12:19 AM

A shot of nitrous would do the trick and won't break the bank.

SNAKEBITE 09-02-2011 06:38 PM

oh oh good call^^^^

StealthStang 09-06-2011 09:22 PM

I second the nitrous, best bang for the buck. Put me in the 11's on a stockish motor

johnny5 09-06-2011 09:29 PM

nitrous on the street might not be a good idea, whats the fine for getting caught with it hooked up on the street??

SNAKEBITE 09-07-2011 04:24 PM

can't be good lol

StealthStang 09-11-2011 01:40 PM

Well the better half of 4000$ and you will have boost or 1000 and you will have nos at the track? its a toss up

SNAKEBITE 09-11-2011 04:07 PM

I loves the s/c whine, when I occassionally drive mine. tehehehe

I'm not aware of any law that won't allow it to be in the car.

It is an addictive sound.

StealthStang 09-12-2011 07:13 PM

look it up! it is law that it is illegal to even have the nitrous bottle in the car

ChadStang 09-12-2011 10:15 PM

Guess I'm wrong, I've never heard that before.

SNAKEBITE 09-13-2011 06:30 PM

I thought as long as it was unhooked all was fine=me wrong go figure lol

ChadStang 09-13-2011 09:45 PM

I knew a guy that always hid his nitrous bottle in a speaker box. The stereo didn't even work in the car but he didn't want the competition to know it was there I guess.

SNAKEBITE 09-14-2011 06:11 PM

smart thinking. I wonder if the law is the law right across Canada?

borbet 10-01-2011 01:52 AM

Synthetic fluids front to rear , more gear like 3.55 s ( nice with 5 speed ) , a full tune up plugs wires cap fuel filter , maybe a bump up in timing , check your brakes for wear and drag and a electric fan like say a taurus with a hollister road relay ( www.hollister road.com ) . Then it's heads cam and intake .
If you dont have them , install frame connectors to help putting the power down :)
Like others said super charge it .
Is this a toy or daily driver ?

VAEM 10-01-2011 04:07 AM

Get boost.

SNAKEBITE 10-01-2011 10:53 AM

amen brother lol

CRASH 10-01-2011 11:18 AM

All motor man.
Spray is for girls.

blown349 10-01-2011 08:12 PM

If your a fatass, then I would consider losing a couple hundred pounds. I've seen many a doughboys at the track that look like their diet consisits of fries and burgers on a regular basis. Get lean and win......

Then again, I've also seen some little wee guys that pilot their cars and that must be good for a tenth or two.....man those little fucks are small. lmfao.

Or go Turbo or SC and have it on tap all day long so you can whip the out of those old junkyard POS's. lmfao.

StealthStang 10-02-2011 10:48 AM

nitrous is for girls eh, well if that's the case at least this girl is hot. Anybody can stick a powerhouse in a beat up POS. Don't be mad cause I have a good looking chick as my crew and you have BIG old breaking parts as yours.

The only way you will look this good is if you pay somebody to do it

oh snap!!!!!

but, I wouldn't consider a junkyard 351 with cast iron heads any kind of powerhouse. When mentioning the term powerhouse, I would hope that there would be some Eagle steel stuff in the bottom end, possibly some crower rods, JE pistons maybe..............

Yes, ur car is mint and looks killer big guy (not as big as some people), and shows well too.

man it's quiet in here........

StealthStang 10-03-2011 04:41 PM

thanks bro and next year The Stealth stang should be a bit quicker

SNAKEBITE 10-03-2011 05:39 PM

^^^^details are a must lol

StealthStang 10-03-2011 06:23 PM

well at the last track outing I hurt the motor a bit. So springtime I will pull it out inspect and rebuild. I have a 306 sitting in the garage that may go in

StealthStang 10-04-2011 04:39 PM

SNAKEBITE 10-04-2011 05:06 PM

Crash I wouldn't say that...... spray works very well in the right hands, but it is also good for those racers that are in a hurry to make a mediocre performer run up to expectations.... BUT! 9 times out of 10 they hurt there motor and miss out on alot of good air in sept/oct when the track is fast. I Think if a shiny paint job and slapping a big chrome horse on the front of your car would make it faster we would of gave it a try....And we are fast enuff anyway (for now):wiggle::tup:chacha:

StealthStang 10-05-2011 05:58 PM

I know how you Breaking Parts can make your car faster, it unfortunatly involves putting down those krispycreame doughnuts. Every 100lbs your huge ass loses is a 10th.Good luck with that. PS i completely built my car, from mecanical to body and paint. You?

lmfao @ Stealthstang........gotta love those Krispy Kreme donuts.......

Dude, its not worth it. I havent' met anyone who can lay down a coat of paint better than you. Just walk away (cuz judging by the primer-mobiles they own, I understand their hostility)

Its real easy to build a 9, 10 or 11 second combo. Believe me, it's not rocket science. Those guys down south were doing it decades ago. Hell, they are putting 88mm Turbo's on 04 Cobra's and easily breaking the 1K mark at the wheel. I thought I had wicked numbers with 712 rwtq at the rear (with only 16psi), but it's peanuts these days. Most up here are just posers. Just log on to the bullet.

Fast is not mid 9's anymore, period! So unless you're going low-mid 8's on a 275, there really isn't much thinking that you're a hero. Just have fun with the car and enjoy getting out with the family to cruises or the track. In the meantime, I'm out of this penis-measuring contest (for those of us who still can view the little guy), so if any one of you wanna buy some parts or my parachute, PM me.

and next time I go to photograph you at the track, remind me to bring the wide angle lens, as there were some really really fatass broads there. lmfao.

peace.

StealthStang 10-05-2011 09:41 PM

And btw my motor is mediocre, its a stock motor except the cam and I actually gained 6 10th's by adding the chrome badge to the front

We will be racing this Saturday, look for yourself. Bring some donuts. FYI 100lbs is worth more than a tenth.:tup
