What valve springs to use???
I recently acquired a set of Edelbrock Performer heads #60379 (no springs/valves included 1.90 in /1.60 ex) for my '92 5.0. This is my first go at a 5.0
I'm going with: GT 40 upper/lower 1"spacer Speed density CAI 3" with a '95 slot MAS SCT Eliminator chip and custom tune (to come) Professional Products fuel rail kit and reg BBK 65mm TB and EGR spacer 24# injectors TFS Stage 1 cam Crane Energizer 1.7 RR Comp cams 6.25" x 5/16" push rods The Edelbrock website is confusing. Tech keeps you on hold forever! What spring kit is recommended? (I want a complete kit.) What timing chain should I use? ... and what degree timing with all of the above (I have 11* now) There's a lot of good stuff out there, and a lot of junk as well. I've heard that beehives are good, doubles are better, some have crappy seats, locks or retainers, etc. Thanks! (Sorry, I originally posted in wrong forum. Oops!) |
Go with a Comp Cams spring kit with locks and retainers.
Call there tech line and tell them your cam specs and they will tell you what springs are required. This way there is now guess work. Tech Support: 1-800-999-0853 General: 901-795-2400 Fax: 901-366-1807 |
