Oil Separator Catch Cans

Been doing some reading on oil separator catch cans, just wondering if this would be a good mod to consider doing. I like the fact it looks factory and that its a Ford Performance product, and installation is a piece of cake.

Drivers side and passenger side available, but would this be something I really need? Thoughts and opinions are appreciated, they're not a terrible price, looks like maybe $200 or so a side.

Ford Performance M-6766-A50S - driver side

Ford Performance M-6766-A50 - passenger side

Should have done a search, heres some reading from a thread def67 started.

Going to price these out on Monday I think, stay tuned.

What is it with these cars anyway? I drive anything else and all i do is tint the windows and get a set of Blizzaks, I get something with Mustang on it and I'm thinking about swapping out parts all over the place. lol Maybe I just need to get it and drive it.

LOL. I didnt read that link, but I put on a JLT oil seperator on the passenger side right away. I read before that if only doing one, the passenger side collects 80%, whereas the driver side around 20%. Most people don't think it's necessary on the driver side. I believe the JLT one cost around $100-$150 shipped from The Mustang Shop in Calgary. Simple to install.

I like it, wasn't aware FRPP make these. I personally believe they add value i.e. reduced oil going into the intake and are certainly effective. Price is competitive if thats in CDN $'s. My only concern with this particular one is it looks like you have to remove three cap screws to empty the can?? If so it's certainly not as simple as other brands with a screw on bottom. Thanks for sharing, who knew Ford had these.

That's s nice piece. I've been using one on my n/a gt for years. I pieced mine together since there wasn't much when I did this mod. It's amazing how much it catches.

My JLT collects about a can full on the passenger side and hardly any on the driver side every 2500km of spirited driving. This oil going through the the intake reduces the octane of your fuel. Passenger side is more important, because the PCV operates on acceleration on the passenger side and the driver side is deceleration.

So, its worth looking into, wouldn't hurt to have both sides?

I think so. I was surprised to see that much oil.
