June 6th 2009,Mustang 45th Event.Looking for Stangs...........

Big show coming here in London area.....Here is a quote from the LAMC forums....

This is going to be a big show!! They are hoping to get 2000 - 2500 mustangs!!
Steve will still be having a classic car show that day but on a much smaller scale - the biggest part of the show will be celebrating the 45th anniversary of the Mustang.

I did mention to Mark Smith that they needed to put something on the website about the Mustangs so we can draw some attention to it!!

From what Mark said, the Golden Horseshoe Club is definitely interested in attending. He is also contacting clubs from the states to attend!!

From what I understand, Speed Channel will be attending as well as Car Crazy filming their show!!

This has the potential to be a huge show!!! Help get the word out. Contact anyone/club you are in contact with and let them know they should definitely save this date - June 6/09. There is a $10 entrance fee per car.

Mark is hoping to know mid April how many cars will be attending! Anyone needing to trailer their car, there will be room to park the trailers.
I will keep this thread updated as i see,and recieve info.

It would take much longer ie stopping every 10 kms to wipe it down. Oh and then there would be the polishing part.:bleh:

Here is a little update by SMOKEFAN did on the LAMC boards....

Registration : at the gate on the day of the show $10, no pre registration needed.

If you have a trailer : there is plenty of room for your tow vehicles and trailers on site(seperate area), however trailers can't be displayed with car.

Website : the show website will be updated soon to clarify and advertise the 45th Mustang portion, again no age restrictions on Mustangs to show.

Special displays : there is talk of pairing up limited edition early models with late models, for example '68 GT500 displayed beside '08 GT500. If you have a bullit, Mach 1, GT500 or other limited model and would be interested please feel free to PM me.

Tim

ALL year Mustang qualify, all trim levels welcomed. More variety the better.

Fleetwood website should be updated by the end of next week, when it is I am sure someone will post the link that will finally clear the air on some of the questions/issues.

gfong 03-22-2009 10:49 AM

Hi guys here is the scoop, The Fleetwood show wanted to do a celebration on the 45th Aniversary of the Mustang and that is what they are doing. Since they already do a huge show the London Area Mustang Club is the host club and it's members are going to to this show.
Smokefan was the one that initiated this and should get some kudos for getting the ball rolling. Members of the LAMC (1low03GT included) are ready to do this show up good.....but we are just waiting for final details to come from the Fleetwood camp. Once that is complete you will see a major push and details on the show. Just to let you all know, there is going to be an actual Airshow for us to view! WTF! :) That is how big this is getting!

As stated ALL years of mustangs are to be included and wanted!

Thanks for listening.

Plunket had a weekly cruise night last summer, I had the 86 there almost every week. The Olds club also holds the annual event there on the back side of the property. Anyone who has never been should go.

Just found out last night the Olds Club is going back to Fanshawe Park this year for our annual meet. I will however be at Plunkett's with the Mustang for this event, count me in. :tup

Have you ever been out to the "estate"? It is quite impressive... you'll see, he just built his own museum complex on site.

Went out there for a walk around and meeting tonight, one issue that we were able to clarify was that there will be 3 entrances 1 of which will be dedicated for Mustang clubs.

Also, there is no shortage of room. We have a good area set aside for Mustangs, even if we use that up there will be another 24 acres opened up for Mustangs.

Thanks, Tim
