amp guage

What should I check to see why my amp guage is not moving off center with or without the car being on or not?

Funny how this is a common issue dated that far back.
My old '79 F 100, and my old '85 GT had the same issue. Never could figure this issue out myself.

What is are experiecning is pretty typical of those gauges.

If you really want to know what is going on you need to install good aftermarket gauges.
