To do or not to do: Stock or Mod's?
 

I have a 65 coupe. 289 V8.
It seems that every year I ponder the thoughts of doing some mod's to the car, then I think I should leave it stock.
I enjoy it being stock for the most part and then other times I see all the chrome and mod's other's have made to theirs and I think I'm missing out.
I don't want mine to be like everyone else's...that's why I tell myself every year to leave it original BUT I can't stop thinking how nice it would be to add some chrome to the engine and maybe switch up the wheels and mags....smack:

Should I leave it stock or do some changes?

my thought is this, just do do anything you cant change back easily. dont cut it up and if its the original engine and you want to mod it, pull it out and store it and build what you want. have fun with it. coupes are not as desireable as verts and fastbacks anyway. I am building a resto mod 64 1/2 coupe right now and I will be able to put it stock in the future if I want. my vert and fastback are going to stay stock though.

Wheels & tires are the easiest thing to do (and the easiest to change back), to improve the appearance of a vehicle.

My base model 68 Cougar went from looking like an old man's car, to something a lot more interesting, with a wheel & tire swap.

personally....I'd mod the hell out of it....cause that's what I like

suspension, brakes, wheels, exhaust, steering....make her drive real nice.....then I'd start on the jewelry box

but with the value of #'s matching originals that are mint....if that's what your's is....tough callsmack:

Mod it. There is nothing MORE BORING than rows of neatly restored Mustangs. If you're worried about value then as others have said keep the parts and make them bolt on mods. Vintage Mustangs are pretty rudimentary cars and stock quite frankly they aren't great performers. Brakes and Handling are the areas I'd be looking at. Shiny stuff is nice too though! Stu

Keep all your original parts and just do bolt on mods WAY TOO SIMPLE! Problem solved. Good luck on the choice

I'd say MOD the hell out of it and hang the F$&K on. Unless you think its worth big $$$$$$$
