My 78 Mustang II build thread

Well I figured I'd do a cliff noted build thread for my car, going to see a bit of major progress shortly once I wrap up the EFI swap.

To start with it was a v6 4spd car when I got it, but I quickly blew the v6 (2 days lol) so then it was a v8 SROD car, blew the srod, then became a v8 t5 car, got tired of the carb motor and am just putting the finishing touches on an EFI swap and once that is running proper it'll be supercharged.

I have a thread on mustangii.net http://www.mustangii.net/forums/topi...TOPIC_ID=14193 you can check it out there for more details but here is a list on the dones on the car

1978 Mustang II Rallye T-top
1993 Tbird EFI HO motor and wiring swap
91 4 cyl T5
3.40 Rear gears welded up
Gutted Interior
Seam Welded
Hedman Headers with the front passenger side tube modified
2.5 inch exhaust
Electric fan
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Oh yeah I almost forgot, my homebuilt EFI in tank pump tank

Soon to be installed
Front Coilovers
Rear Koni shocks
Homebrew Control arms
Intercooled, m90 Blow Through setup

Here are some pictures of it along the way, I'll try to keep this one updated
When I got it

Video of the day after I finished putting it together, like I literally finished it, went to sleep and drove to this place in the morning

Mine is a year round driver

My carbon fiber hood I gotta adjust a bit more before I commit to rocking it full time

A picture showing how much good the seam welding did

The important thing with car builds is to keep the motivation. Looks like your enjoying the car while doing the build, so that should be no problem for you.

Any underhood shots?

Reminds me a bit of the Pinto wagon my brother used to have in the early 1980s, it was an original 2.8 V6 car. He sprayed the hell out of it for one summer, the little engine didn't like that too much ... started huffing serious blowby out the rocker cover breathers. In went a stock 302 and C4, then eventually a pretty serious 289, with spray of course.

Keep working away at it!

cheers
Ed
