Question Just a few quick questions.

Hey guys . I got a few quick questions here. First of all my hood popper is super hard to pull out, like it will pull out but I have to fool with it a lot to get it to actually pop the hood. Any suggestions to fix this or reasons why it is doing this? Also it's coming that time for me to take my beautiful car out and i really want it to look its best, but my whole engine is completly filthy. The previous owner never did anything with this car, I mean nothing, he had it for like 3 months and never even changed the oil and it really needed to be changed. Anyway, I was just wondering if I could get some tips on cleaning the engine to make it look its best and shine the way it should . Also, I was really looking into putting a cold air intake on my car.. worth it or not?? Thanks a lot guys.

For the hood release cable, pull it out, and spray it with some lithium spray grease, and work the cable back, and forth until it moves really easy, then re install it.
To clean the engine bay that has had no attention to it, I myself like to use stuff like WD40, and a cloth to get all the hard crap off the engine bay, then use tire shine spray foam on everything to make it pop. If the Engine itself is gunky, Gunk (if my memories serves me correct) works really well. But that involves using pressured water to hose down, which i am not a huge fan in getting my engine bay soaked with water personally.

If you can find a car wash operation that has a steam cleaner hose that would be best to clean the engine, just make sure you place a plastic bag over any exposed air filters. During car shows I use a few small paint brushes to wipe away dust in hard to reach areas. Gunk or Amoral sprayed on a cloth first then wiped onto engine parts is best. As for beefing up your V6 on my 05 I have a MAC CAI, dual Magnaflow exhaust and a Brenspeed tune all three work together to improve response and gas mileage. My project in the next few months will be a wider BBK throttle body. At the moment the RWHP is 269 and should be 10-12 hp higher with the BBK. This is not bad considering the stock 2005 4.0 is 210 from the Flat Rock plant. Brenspeed link below.

I too have used coin car wash on my Mustang but only for things I could not get to with a rag. I then used " NO TOUCH Tire Care" on the whole motor bay, motor, firewall every thing. I get my No Touch Tire care at walmart, Candain Tire, Lordco most car dept. have it. This works great for me makes my car look like new.
