Congrats man!!! Rare and nice too. I'd put the Chrome SVT wheels back on though, with 10.5" in the back. You're gonna love it.

did you happen to find it on kijiji??? is it the 1 with the 5spd conversion??? nice car man..congrats

Oscar 03-17-2009 07:50 PM

Thanks guys... very happy with it... what make it 1 of 128 is that it is a ragtop white I will put goodies to it but not all at the same time... I need to pace myself...LOL

Oscar 03-17-2009 07:52 PM

Yep it is the one with the 5 speed but for the price he let go the car it was a steal... I am looking for a T56 trany if any of you has one to sale let me know... I'll bring it back to original specs...

1low03gt 03-17-2009 08:36 PM

Nice find :tup.Why does it have a 5 speed?

Oscar 03-17-2009 08:57 PM

Because the car was bought from a Toyota dealer in Texas. They did not know anything about Cobras and didn't want to pay the price the T56 was worth so they went to the 5 speed conversion...
Dumb move on their part. So the guy I bought it from, bought it, and brought it over to ontario... where I bought it...
His reasons was that he did not use it enough to decide that he should bring back the 6 speed so he decided to sell it and I bought it for the price of a MACHI...

I'll be putting in the 6 speed... in the near futur..

Stang Illusions 5.0L 03-18-2009 10:57 AM

OHH you lucky fack! Damn I wanna 04 Cobra so bad, but I want a coupe!
Looks great :tup

rishi65 04-02-2009 12:16 AM

Hey, nice car. I brought my 03 Terminator out of Texas.

Look, I have to ask, did you by any chance get "CobraBob" to run the VIN for you on this car?

I ask this, because I was the person on Modular Fords who CarFaxed the VIN for you.

Hats off to another Canadian Cobra, and a local one at that!

Cheers!

Oscar 04-02-2009 08:52 AM

Cobra Bob

Yes I have talked to him on the phone and by emails...

I also talked to almost all the people in Texas that was involved with car the at one time or an other...

I have the full story about all the truth or the un-true things about that car...

I am very happy with all the help that CobraBob gave me the contacs and all...

I'll be enjoying the car for the summer and will be putting in a T56 trany in the winter... then the car will be all set... this car is set up at this time to push 430 RWHP and 390 RWtorque... I've talked with the car mechanic in Texas... it is a bomb!

Well if you ever need any help at all, you can either contact myself OR, you can get an account on ModularFords

That is BAR NONE the BEST website on the net for tech talk and advice for the 2003/2004 Cobra guys. THE BEST IN THE WORLD, tuners, mechanics, professional and amateur racers frequent that site, you will find EVERYTHING you could ever want to know.

I will issue one warning to you, I'm assuming that the transmission in the car now is the T-3650 or the T-45. Both of those transmissions WILL fail under a heavy right foot, or clutch abuse at the Cobra's power levels. While you're waiting to get your hands on the T-56 GO EASY!

P.S. What are your mods?

Oscar 04-02-2009 09:18 AM

Yes I know I was told that about the trany... thanks for the head up... I might evn buy a T56 this summer if I get lucky and somebody find me one... but I'm also renovating my home... so I have to go easy...:(

I do not have the info on the MODs I was told by the Mechanic in Texas that this is what the car was pushing at the time it was in Texas... I have not dynoed the car yet and I do not have computer yet to check things out... so at this point it is hear- say about the RwHP and Rw ąTorque

If you'll snap a picture under the hood, and behind the car, I can probably tell you what 90% of the modifications are.

Also, I cannot recommend strongly enough that you visit ModularFords and make an account. You will be doing yourself a HUGE favour.

Oscar 04-02-2009 09:32 AM

Modularford is what a on line store? Is it Canadian or US base?

I will take pics of the engine and the rear end? and I'll sent it your way...

rishi65 04-02-2009 09:43 AM

Modular Fords is a technical discussion bulletin board just like this. Here is the link, just check it out, make an account, and start learning!

Here is the link 2003 - 2004 Mustang Cobra - ModularFords.com

When I say the back of the car, I mean literally stand behind the car, and take a picture (I just want to see what exhaust it has).
If you take one under the hood, I'll be able to identify what modifications the car has-

Oscar 04-02-2009 09:47 AM

Ah ok... well the exhaust system it has is Magnaflow X 3" from front to the rear the sound on that thing is almost like a Wet dream...LOL

I'll check it out at home... I'm at work now...:)

I'm running a Magnaflow system on my car as well, with a BBK O/R X-pipe. My cat back is 3" tips, with 2.5'' diameter pipe, I wasn't aware that Magnaflow made a complete 3" system?

Oscar 04-02-2009 09:53 AM

Well it appears they do because I have one on the car... BBK O/R X-pipe the guy I bought the car from in TO, told me he got it made in Texas and he said that it cost him 4K...

Oh wow, it's a custom setup then with Magnaflow mufflers and tips welded in. I'll bet it did cost him 4K. That's awesome, there aren't many Cobras running around anywhere with full 3". Magnaflow does not make a 3" system for the IRS Cobras, or any of the New Edge Mustangs (SN95), but having a custom one made is the best option if you want 3" all the way back. I'll bet it sounds amazing!

Oscar 04-02-2009 10:05 AM

I will also say that the Mechanic in Texas told me that the car was set up at the time to be able to push or fallow Vipers... so he told me that the car has Viper Specs... again it is hear - say at this time... I do not talk about it to much because I do not know if it is true or not...

rishi65 04-02-2009 10:10 AM

Well when I am able to see what the car has for pulley setup (or possibly blower set up?) I'll be able to give you a general idea of the power level.

You are going to need a hand held tuner if the car is heavily modified, OR if you're not comfortable with data logging and reflashing the ECM yourself, you should make an appointment to see a tuner somewhere in the Montreal or Ottawa area to make sure that the car is running within acceptable limits.

Anyway, I'll be able to give you a better idea of the urgency of a tuning session once I can identify some of the mods.

I do know of a good shop in Montreal, they will be able to help you, should you decide to have the car tuned.

Oscar 04-02-2009 10:14 AM

I know exactly the feeling you're talking about. This is a Corvette killer in disguise. Those who know what they are are SHOCKED to see them, especially in Canada.
As for ModularFords, there's a lot you need to learn about these cars to take care of them properly, this is my third Mustang, and it requires a lot more knowledge to maintain than any of the others ever did. They're more tempermental, but the power IS worth it. It is the best car I've ever had.
I will be taking a trip to Toronto with my Cobra this summer, and will be visiting my brother in Ottawa. I would love to drop by, and see your car!

Oscar 04-02-2009 10:37 AM

Yep I see what you mean... they are special cars... Even in my Mustang group the car comands respect... and we have good Mustangs in my group... but now that I have the Cobra... it weird...LOL

Hey email me when you get in Ottawa I will give you my addy so you can come see it...

rishi65 04-02-2009 10:39 AM

Sounds great, and I couldn't have put it better myself. They do command respect-

Oscar 04-02-2009 10:43 AM

Cheers for now... let me know when you are in town! we might cruise around go see my other car club guys...
