Thanks everyone. And no, didn't race any 13.3 Sunfire LOL!
The tires are M/T ET streets, and the tire pressure was at 13 psi. I think they might've been too soft since i was swaying side to side mid track on LOL!.... and possibly slowing me down a tad.
Next time i'm going to run them at a slightly higher psi.

Gary, you were the star that day. You were looking to get into the 12's, and you did, and it got better for you! Congrats again.
Myself i am haunted by my old times, and been having issues getting them back or improvong after i went to the Bullitt intake. I don't get it. It's been a few years for me since i raced, but still, and i have cleanned up some issues, got retuned, and make more power, but yet i struggle to hit 13.2's, and lost 4 to 5 mph. I don't get it. It's actually discouraging.
My GT would hit 13.1's at 106/107 mph with 1.77 to 1.80 sixty foots all the time on 17" drag radials with current cams, h pipe, and welded in mufflers, drop in K&N, with a modified cai, ported stock upper plenum, with spacer, 4.10's, and custom tune.
(in bold new parts added)
Now with same cams, x pipe, full cat back, JLT cai, Bullitt intake, Steeda underdrive pulleys , 4.10's , and new dyno custom tune, i can only squeeze out 13.2 at 102 mph with better sixty foots that were 1.70 to 1.74's with one being 1.76 on 15" ET Streets.
I don't get it. Been bugging ever since saturday really.
But i still had fun nonetheless.
Instead of going forward, i've been going backwards!!!
My set up is a mid 12's or better, that's where it doesn't make sence!?!

jay you are swaying around because the tire pressure IS a wee bit low(about 2-3psi) but also because you have radials on the front and bias on the back.that's a no no.don't know what to say about the times slowing up for you, how's the clutch man?did you have the car lowered when you ran quicker?the new intake and changes might not like the lowered stance.if you wanta go dragracing successfully put v6 springs in the back and a set of drag shocks and ditch the front swaybar and lowering springs.lowered cars are for going around corners better and looking cool which your car does wonderfully but it is exactly what you DON'T want for drag racing jay.i hate to say but you may have to choose between the two.when was the last time you went circuit racing?when was the last time you went drag racing?how do you feel about the performance of the car? does it bother you?lowered drag cars are designed to be low and still have weight transfer with a proper soft drag suspension.you are low but stiff.the wrinklewalls help alot but something is amiss.it was a hot day that day.can your computer pull timing if it is too hot?you said you had 94 octane in it i think that day if i am not mistaken.do you NEED 94?if your motor doesn't need it to stop knocking then it is hurting the performance by slowing the flame propigation across the top of the piston.does it feel crisper with 91oct?if you want to run the 94 then by all means bump the timing a couple degrees.higher octane slows the burn process.any idea what your compression ratio is?not a guess but actual ratio?also thanks for the props jay ,i had a blast that day.

I know Gary that i can't have both worlds, and i chose the looks over the drag portion since i only race the odd weekend. I like the best of both worlds so to speak.
Those 13.1's at 106/107 mph were with the current suspension set up. I have had these springs in my GT since it was two weeks old in '03.
I am gonna try some different things next time out, like not so soft tire pressure, and launching a tad lower then i normally do.
I am so close wityh the E.T, but don't get why the mph is down, i can see the diffrerence in mph with street tire to sticky tire though.
Before i make the move to 4.30's, i would like to hit the 12's, i know it can be done as others have done it. I just need to figure my out i guess.

Oh, my GT is tuned to 91.

mph is a function of hp.if your mph is down so is your hp for some reason.bad air or timing not quite what it should be.if you are not getting the mph now what do you hope to accomplish with the 4.30's?you will rev higher but it is not gauranteed you will go faster.quicker maybe but not faster.why is the hp down? that is the question...what did the tune say?was it dyno'd when it was tuned?do you have an air/fuel ratio gauge?if not get one!aem makes a nice one that is reasonable.i use one.
