OK, update on progress!
1. My "150 dollar pile of crap" Harwood hood has been painted. I was a little hasty with the body work and I will probably fix a couple of things on the back of it and along the bottom of the lip and then we'll re-paint it. Still, though, for a hood I paid $150.00 for on E-bay, then the only other outlay has been paint and a few hours of labour with me sanding/prepping it.........It was still a great deal. 2. The engine was partially disassembled on Saturday to take out my TFS #1 camshaft for Nick, and my new Camshaft Innovations Billet cam went in. New FMS SVO timing chain with 8-way keyway was installed and timing set accuracy was verified by using a dial indicator on a magnetic base and checking the valve events according to my camshaft spec sheet. Luckily, the FMS timing set was dead-on accurate. The engine was then re-assembled, but I am trying to find the correct stud kit for my phenolic spacer, which looks a lot better than the threaded rod that I'm using right now. Car will soon be moving to my garage at my new house where I can finish up the interior and stuff when I have time, and hopefully get it running. That is, when I get the Town Car out of the garage............Ended up needing longer pushrods for my E7, HO cam and Explorer intake swap on the TC.....but that's another story. I am still trying to find a nice set of marker lights for it......... |

OK, so, since the move, I haven't had a lot of time to work on the car up until recently.
Nick came over last night and helped me with the trans install, crossmember was coated with several coats of Kryptonite and Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings installed, along with new stainless bolts. I also bought a set of FMS aluminum valve covers, so I took some pics, now that the engine is sitting where it's supposed to so it doesn't look goofy :) I also got my CAI figured out so that I didn't have to cut the inner fender, and the MAF will be inside the fender. So, this is a before shot, just showing the engine sitting right in the bay, with the CAI how it's going to be routed: http://www.photodump.com/direct/cadl...ienginecai.jpg And in case nobody has seen what the big-ass ports on a TFS-R upper/lower look like, here's a couple pics, note that you can see Cobra's (from GTAMC) port work from back when he ported heads a bit in the runners: http://www.photodump.com/direct/cadlam/tfsrlower.jpg http://www.photodump.com/direct/cadl...ortcloseup.jpg http://www.photodump.com/direct/cadlam/tfsrupper.jpg And a couple pics of the engine with the valve covers installed, no upper: http://www.photodump.com/direct/cadl...installed1.jpg http://www.photodump.com/direct/cadl...installed2.jpg And one with the upper installed (just has threaded rod holding it in place, waiting on stud kit for the 1" spacer): http://www.photodump.com/direct/cadl...installed3.jpg |
Oh, and a shot of the rockers/heads to show that Mobil 1 does in fact work, hehehhhehe :)
