'82 Capri Black Magic Progress
#22
Just to update:
NateV6 came over and helped me remove the 7.5" rear-end from the Capri. It had Traction-Lok and 3.45 gears in it, which he is going to be using in his car.
We then went over and picked up my 8.8 from Nick's place, and it's slated to go in tomorrow if all goes well.
The 7.5" came out without too much drama and I am re-using the stock control arms on the car because I have a pan-hard bar that is being installed, so I'm not too concerned about their lateral control capabilities.
If I'm feeling ambitious, might get the valve springs swapped in the next little while, fuel lines hooked up, and then we'll see if she runs!!!

OK, got a few more parts!
Picked up an FMS Extender II:
And NateV6 and myself took to the fun task of putting the 8.8 in it. Damn it's heavy! I swear it weighs twice as much as the 7.5! Anyways, discovered the diff cover had a hole in it, so went to the wreckers and picked up an aluminum one off a Crown Vic:
Rear has been treated with several coats of Kryptonite, with the exception of the drums and backing plates, as U-LOSE (Brent) has generously donated the ones from his car, which are in exceptional shape.
Diff cover needs to be cleaned and polished still, but that can be done pretty much any time.
