K Crash, I guess I will be the first to post my project here. First a little about me. I am 49, live in Smithville and have been all my life a diehard MOPAR guy. Yep I said MOPAR. One year ago my then 16 year old son was in the hunt for a foxbody Mustang. For some reason he took a liking to them. Thank God is all I can say, because before that he was into all that ricer . SO out Mustang hunting we went, we looked at all the usual rotted shitboxes that were advertised as "no rust" only to find patched floor pans and rotted out shock towers. But on Dec 24th he spotted a 88GT on kijiji, it was in Wainfleet , not too far from us, advertised as 96,000 klms, never seen snow or salt. So on Christmas eve we went to look at it. I bought it that night , FOR MYSELF ( he couldn't afford it anyways)$5,500.

Pic of me below washing it upon delivery on the 27th of December.

So one of the first things I did was put a normal set of springs in it to raise it up, then I put a set of Weld Draglites on it , a Cobra R style hood and a short throw shifter, and used it as my daily driver all summer. I love it!

Attachment 20055

It was origionally blue and silver but has been painted Black. It is in incredible condition as this floor picture shows.http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/d...T/DSCF2939.jpg

Also a picture of my 1968 Barracuda 383 Formula S car. Its been in the family since around 1988 or so. A Atlanta Georgia car. A long story in itself, and maybe I will get to it later on.

K, me again. Next up . I love these damn Mustangs so much I wanted another one. Actually between my son and I we have had 7 of them in a 11 month period. And I know of a 1984 SVO in real nice shape I'd love to buy, but don't really have the money for it. But on to the Mustang I am working on now. When I was looking for a Mustang with my son, I told him if I ever bought one, it would be a 5 speed and a notch or trunk car because I just liked the looks of them better and did not really like all the ground effects and spoilers of the GT cars . But I ended up with a GT ??? Go figure, but it has really grown on me, I love it. But this is what I really wanted, a notch.

Found this thing on kijiji Kitchener, for $1500 with 73,000 klms on it. Only problem is it's a 4 cyl auto car. But its in awesome shape.
Here it is at my buddys barn.
Attachment 20046

Yes it's kind of sad looking, but it solid as hell underneath. And I have accumulated some mustang parts,, for the conversion. I have 4 - 5.0 motors , but I have no idea the condition of any of them. One has a 5 speed attached, so I am hoping to use that. So if anyone has a decent running 5.0 in the Niagara Region they want to part with cheap let me know. Anyways I saw a diamond in the rough, so I started polishing my Diamond.

Attachment 20048

Then I picked up a real nice set of chrome ponys off of another fellow, polished the out of them, put them on my nicely polished 88 notch and VOILA !

Attachment 20049
Attachment 20050

This is how it looks now. Oh yeah, I also bought some nice 5.0 fender badges. This thing looks killer now if I do say so myself.
Attachment 20051

Next up was a set of frame connectors I got with my GT and had not got around to welding on. Truth be known I just could not bring myself to weld up that beautiful rust free frame on it ;(. But I had no problem putting them on this one. Took me a while to get the mig dialed in, plus it was hard to do without a hoist , but I got em on. But of course the welds are not the greatest, but by the last weld I had the temp and wire speed finally dialed in....
Attachment 20052
Attachment 20053

Next is the install of the 8.8 with 3:73s I have already . I initially intended on that for my GT , but I guess it is going in the notch. Although I would really like 4:10s for this one. Dave.

P.S. Quick pic of sons 85, you would not believe the condition of this one underneath! As nice as my GT but severely underoiled, and never winter driven??? Performer RPM intake, Hurst short throw shifter 8.8 with 3:73's! Just a gorgeous car, another story in itself on how we ended up with it. Maybe tomorrow. Gettin too late now.

Sons 85 GT.

1 Attachment(s)
This next story is kind of interesting too. As mentioned earlier my son fell for foxbody mustangs. Not sure when or why , but I am glad he did. Well he ended up buying a 89 notch off of a buddy of mine for $600. It was a 4 cyl and rusty but not bad. Fixable ,but it was probably too much of a project for us. SO while we were playing with that a 86 GT came up on kijiji for $1100 bucks. It alreday had a 5.0 in it, it was a 5 speed and ran like a top. A good exhaust system, brakes were all new, body was decent. There was a hole in the drivers floor but all in all car was pretty decent. So we bought it, and sold the notch.
Attachment 20043

So while we had this one tore apart in our driveway and were welding up some of the rust issues a gentlemen riding by onhis bike stops in and is looking at the car. I had known Ron for years, but not well. I also knew he had a mustang that was his pride and joy but had not seen it in years. Had no idea what kind or year it was. And he only lived 2 blocks from me. Anyways, he says to me, instead of fixing THIS thing up why don't you just buy mine? And I said to him " Well mainly cause you will NEVER sell it ??" and he replied yep I will, I've had it long enough and I'm thinking of buying a Vette. He had owned the car for 17 years, and never winter driven it and underoiled it every year before parking it. So he said come and take a look and see what you think? So we went over a couple of days later. And were immediately impressed, you could tell right away that he was one of these guys that was about the upkeep and care of his cars. The car had 1 repaint about 10 years ago, he pulled the 7 1/2 inch rear out and put a 8.8 with 3:73's in. Pulled the phony dual exhaust off and put real duals on, put a new Holley and a Performer RPM intake on it and a new clutch and Hurst short throw shifter recently. So we took it for a spin, and it halls ass for a pretty much stock 5.0. So we were sold. But I did not tell my son that, you see, because his birthday was coming up . So I go back and see him later on making a deal for the car, unknown to my son. Who is bugging me constantly to back and see it again. So the morning of his birthday I run over to Rons, grab the car and park it in the garage. When Jake wakes up I kind of give him a little and tell him to get out into the garage and clean up the mess he left there. So he saunters out to the garage opens the door and is awestruck, the look in his eyes was one I will never forget. To see a 16 year old who stands 6 foot 6 and is 300lbs have tears well up in his eyes was wonderfull. Now we told him it was not a gift, we paid 1/3 of it for him but he had to pay us back the rest. And he does not get to drive it untill it is paid off. Well he never got to drive it this summer, he just finished paying it off, but he can not wait till next summer rolls around. And as far as the price goes, it was a gooood deal, we would have had twice as much in the other car and it would not have been half the car this one is. Dave.

So I had a extra set of Weld draglites so we made a deal, took the 10 holes which had a nice set of Michelins on them and he got my Draglites. It looks much much better with the Welds on there.

64 Dodge 330.

5 Attachment(s)
When I get a chance I will post up some more pics and the story behind the purchase of this 1964 Dodge 330 my brother and I are partners on. We bought it from the original owners son. It's real clean, and like new underneath. It is powered by a 1971 440, he put newer style disc brakes on it, power steering etc. I bought this thing 3 years ago for $3000. Deals just kind of fall my way sometimes. When I took it in for a safety the following week the fellow at the garage offered me $10,000 cash. And by the way , it needed nothing for the safety, nothing !

And no it does not have a 426 in it, it's a 440. But my brother does have a 426 Wedge block he plans on putting in it some day. When I had the hood scoop painted I had the guy paint on 426 because I knew some day there would be one under there.

Putting a Dana 60 in. We paid half as much for the Dana as we did for the car.Look at the bottom, remember this is a 1964.

Here is the picture I had painted on the Hemi Style hood scoop. I just wanted something on there to make it a little different, to give it some personality I suppose.

Okay, I will bite Terry, but I will keep it short for bandwidth purposes.

Name: Greg

Location: Niagara area

Hobbies: Hockey, cars, women and my family

My dad was a mechanic, so ever since I was wee, I have been around cars. Rebuilt motors when I was barely a teenager. He was a Chevy guy, and so naturally I was too. This led me to build my first car, it was a lowered 1982 S10 back in 1987 (grade 9). It was a rare sight to see lowered rides back then, and it was also painted bright yellow, so it received a lot of attention. We put a home-made ground effect kit on it, because there was no such aftermarket kits available at the time.

At the time, my father bought a limited edition (1 of 12 produced) 1986 Iroc Z-28 that was used in the Players Light racing series as a pace car. He bought it in 1989 with 35k on it. It was freshly painted, as you couldn’t drive around with the logos and what not on it, so it was really clean and nice. It was a 5 speed, LG4 motor with black interior and T-tops. I sold the yellow truck to a friend and bought this puppy off of my dad in Grade 13. Drove it to school in my last year of high school (not winter though). During the next few years, my buddies had some Mustang 5.0’s and they would kick my butt when racing around. Eventually my buddy Chris Wiebe (RIP man) let me drive his car and from then on I was sold on the Fox Mustang.

I will spare you the details of the following 15 Mustangs I owned, but suffice to say, I’ve been in every bracket except for 9 Second. I will just post pics of them instead.

One of my favorites was a 1991 Black LX hatch in which I bought used in 1994. It was bone stock with 60,000klm on it. Over the following winter, I worked my butt off (to pay for college fees and car parts) and bought parts and installed them in a small, 1-car garage. I got that thing to do 12.5 @ 108mph with a 1.7 shortie. This was with stock mass air, injectors, bottom end, complete tranny, fuel system and rearend. There were multiple trips to the track with that baby over the next couple of summers.

This one was pretty nice too: 1986 Mustang GT that was completely transformed from factory car.
I bought it in 1995 for $2000 and it was green. It had 150,000 klms on it and was in pretty nice shape. I stripped it all and welded in an S&W 10 point cage. Then it was sent away to the body shop where it was fitted with a fiberglass hatch and a 5” Cervini cowl hood. The car was stripped and painted Ferrari red. I no longer have it.

1993 Mustang LX Hatch (South Carolina car)

I sold this car as a roller, and put the drivetrain into my 89 coupe.
I live up near Niagara Falls, Canada, where the winters are harsh on our vehicles. Unless you can find a vehicle that was honestly stored away during these winter months, they usually are worth nothing less than scrap. So, my search began and I found this car in 2006 from South Carolina. There were some modifications, but most have been replaced. The car had the ugly titanium interior, so that got ditched in a hurry and in went the black. The rims were replaced and new tires put on. The original owner thought that the shortblock may have given up the ghost, so I took that opportunity to replace the flimsy stock block with an FRPP R302 and fill it will goodies.

I'll have sumthin up shortly Dave, the 86 is in the shop, completely gutted, fenders, bumpers, interior, dash, wiring, there is so little left I think even ZM would keep on walkin. Balls deep into the "fun" job of strippin off the sound deadener & undercoat, will start a build thread when I cum up 4 air. :tup
