Yeah 150hp will be noticeable especially when you are missing a gear. I'm driving an 06 GT convertible as a demo and it feels a little sluggish compared to my old car.

Soooo, what can you suggest for really noticeable mods, besides the gears and the cai thats already installed? Any suggestions are welcomed. :D

Yeah I hear ya! The one thing I am looking forward to is having a car thats paid for that I can mod the heck out of, and not worry about my warranty being voided. If I break it, I fix it as soon as I can afford it.

[QUOTE=1LOW03GT;189991]If i started over again, i would go blower! As much as i like my GT being cammed, i think a blower would've been better suited for the money.
Ok so I have been looking into Blowers and I have always liked the Kenne Bell or Eatons, and I can get a KB 2.1 L (6-14psi) for around $5500 new which is intercolled and comes boost-a-pump, injectors, and chip. They also have the 2.6L (10-28psi and $7000), and 2.8L (15-30psi and $7500). My questions with regards to supercharging my 2valvle, are 1) can my stock engine handle any of these applications without other upgrades, and 2) is this the right choice or are there better options out there? And 3) is it safe to start doing any mods with almost 125,000 kms on the engine, or should it be rebuilt? |

Yes your 4.6 will handle it, don't be greedy with the boost , and it will last you a long time.
Ya nitrous is another solution, but not with the 2V, the plastic intake has never survived a good life with nitrous use. So now you would have to spend close to 600 bucks or more for an aftermarket intake that is aluminum to take the abuse. Keep all your stock intake stuff, and if you ever decided to sell the stang, pull the blower off, and reinstall the stock intake, and related hardware, and sell the blower, and stang seperatly. Swapping out the intake on these cars is really simple. I'm not a power adder guy, and i say it all the time, if i could sart all over, i would've gone blown. No fuss no muss. |
Thanks for the feedback guys, I do appreciate it. As far as getting my money out of it, if I sell it, well I know I won't get every penny out of it if I do it up, but really it's no big deal. Everything I do to this car will be bought cash and paid for up front, so i won't owe anything, and if and when I sell it, I keep every penny I get for it.

Thanks man I appreciate it! It's gonna take a bit of time, depending on finances, but I hope to build her up pretty good over the next year or so.

It looks like I have more problems than just a vibration now.....I took the Stang from Lloyd to Saskatoon this past weekend, and when I parked her in the garage and got out, I could smell oil. I popped the hood and looked from the top and saw nothing, so the next morning I backed the car out, and there was a fairly small spot of oil on the floor. I haven't been able to lift the car and have a decent look, but from where the stain was in comparison of where the car was parked, I'm thinking it may be a rear engine seal. Does anyone know if this is common on these 4.6's, and how difficult it is to replace the seal?
