In the south and warm.

We left a cold Ontario Saturday morning at 4:30 am for Fredericksburg VA. On the first stop of the run down south. We made to Wilmington, NC. by 1:30 PM Sunday. We stayed at my buddies over night and left his place at 7:30 am this morning for Avon Park, Florida I also picked up the parts that I ordered for the Mustang that he had for me. We made to the Motel at 7:30pm. 12 Hours on the road. That includes the food and gas stops. The last 150 miles of the run we ran with the top down. :chacha: After all the suspension changes that I made last fall the car held the rough roads like a magnet. The dash cam that wife bought me for Christmas came in handy when running into Virginia on the I 81. I was passing a transport doing 70 Miles an hour, when he decided to cross the center line into my lane. I hit the horn and went down the shoulder of the highway doing 70. I got it on video, there were a few choice words coming out of my mouth. The FN a Hole was texting, My wife was looking up at him and he just waved at her! fingers: After that he dropped way back in the line of traffic. I`ll get the video posted when I get back home. Here`s a picture of the baby parked outside the motel room tonight. :tup I`ll have more picture later.

Safe travels, you always got to be on your toes. Been pretty quiet around here, but glad someone can get somewhere warm!!

Autonut 03-31-2015 04:49 AM

Thanks AP, Stuck my head out the door and it's about 70 F / 20 C already. :D I have no idea what we are going to do today, but I'll be running with the top down for sure. Time to start the day, I'll post some pictures of the new parts later. I averaged 21 mpg with the Mustang. High octane 93 is running at $2.79 per Gallon give or take a few cents. I have to find a car wash and get her clean after driving though a heavy rain storm in Georgia. Now to get the wife's butt into gear. :shakeit:

Chris, can't help but think of you, those dam brown trucks are everywhere!

Toured Sebring yesterday, off to the gulf side today. Huge flea market there, that just means more stuff for the garage. :D If I can fit it into the Mustang. :banghead:

That's ok, enjoy it while you can. I'll give this one to you. The drive is great, you would be amazed how many newer muscle cars, Mustangs, Camaros and Challengers catch up and give the nod, then take off. :chacha:

I took this picture yesterday in Florida from the motel room of a transport hauling oranges.

That thing really is coming along nicely. Looks like you are running out of stuff to put on it though.

Nice looking gear, pretty clean under the hood, you power wash that by any chance? (Sorry, couldn't resist)

Just a little bit more and then in my dreams I'll trade it in for a Shelby Super Snake. I keep telling that to my wife and all she does is -> :lol

I'm going to do it again. There is so much pollen down south. The car was covered in yellow pollen very morning and it is everywhere under the hood. Just look at the air filter. :banghead:

I'm with you on that one, I would go back in a instant. :tup

One thing that is making me cry is fuel cost. To fill my F150 from a quarter tank was 50 bucks for the 93 octane in the U.S. (I prefer high octane travelling highway. My F 150 gets better miliage with it). And here in Canada it cost me 30 bucks to fill it from three quarters of a tank. FN highway robbery!
So that, and weather. I'm game to go back LOL!

I hear you. Here is a break down of the fuel cost for me. Notice the cost in Ontario vs state to state. There is a difference in fuel. US is 93 Octane with 10% ethanol at very station that I stoped at. Canada is 91 with no ethanol at Shell.

NY $2.799 - $2.819 = $53.50 USD -- $67.63 CDN
PA $2.939 = $41.00 USD -- $51.83 CDN
VA $2.699 - $2.739 = $71.00 USD -- $89.75 CDN
NC $2.819 - $3.099 = $91.00 USD -- $115.03 CDN
SC $2.699 = $29.00 USD -- $36.66 CDN
GA $2.729 = $38.38 USD -- $48.52 CDN
FL $3.019 - $3.159 = $79.00 USD -- $99.86 CDN

US avg per g = $3.159 or $0.84 L Rounded.

ONT $1.189 L / $4.501 CDN = $17.40 USD -- $22.00 CDN
Or $0.94 L / $3.57 per gallon USD

Total Trip Fuel Cost = $420.28 USD -- $531.28 CDN

Round Trip - 3001.0 Miles = 4829.6 KMs

Now if you wanted to compare the cost of beer........ :D
