Nice. The only good pic pic i have for a night shot.LOL

it works really good because with it all faded to black i didn't even bother to resize it to fit my screen. so it's not distorted or nothing :)
|
I see, does make things a lot simpler with all that black LOL!

Thanks Abby!
Once my street gets put back together so i can get the GT out, i will do my best to get more new pics.:tup |
They look so much better without the wing.
|
what's the latest on engine repairs?
|
The end of March i will have the new heart, then i need to order some new valvesprings for my cams, along with some new valve seals, front, and rear main seals, exhaust manifold gaskets, and maybe the intake gaskets, not sure yet as i can re use mine as they look good still, but i will reassess that when i am read to drop it in the engine bay.
|
are you doing the repairs yourself or farming it out?
|
oh that is sweet!!!

Here is the current state of the stang LOL
Parts laying everywhere.... https://www.cmoc.ca/attachment.php?a...ine=1330217427 https://www.cmoc.ca/attachment.php?a...ine=1330217427 https://www.cmoc.ca/attachment.php?a...ine=1330217427 https://www.cmoc.ca/attachment.php?a...ine=1330217427 https://www.cmoc.ca/attachment.php?a...ine=1330217427 http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...t/100_2889.jpg And a close up view of the parts that let go when i floated the valves when i missed shifted at 6400 rpm when i was powershifting.....oh, and those little pieces by the cam follower (aka the rocker as known by the push rod guys) are parts of the valve guide!!! https://www.cmoc.ca/attachment.php?a...ine=1330217427 A far fetch from this lol.... http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...100_2538-1.jpg |
how much will you save dollar wise by doing the work yourself. I am sure it will be substantial.
|
Not to sure to tell you the truth. There is at least a few hours to install the valve seals, valvesprings, and install, and degree the cams, then another hour roughly to install the exhaust manifolds, the intake, and cam covers on the new heart, then at minimum, a good day to get the old engine out as we plan to drop it from the bottom with a hoist, then another day to get the new heart in. So with most shops charging roughly 70 bucks an hour,it will kill me.
This will be my fifth engine swap to date, so i'm all good, plus my buddies have done many swaps aswell, so we could have it done in a weekend hopefully! LOL! |
Wow 1LOW - A lot of work ahead of you but you're well on your way. Stang still looks badass - even torn apart like that. Looking forward to running with you on the track.
|
Yeah, seems like lot doesn't it LOL!!
Definitely not going to rush it. By July i am hopin that the GT will be home with the long block sitting in the engine bay. Then i am going to re paint the intake, cam covers, ects, and do a lot of detailing to re clean things up afterwards. So i will do a build thread once the ball gets rolling. and thanks VAEM, appriciate the compliment. Will meet you side by side for sure! If not on the track, in the stands for sure LOL!:tup |
no more racin for you mister "I blowed up the motor" lol
|
LOL!! That is my thought for now. We will see. :banghead: :)
