Yeah the one thing I noticed right away, was the expected 300 hp....Looks like 1971-72 is happening all over again.....

I'd like an ecoboost stang but the 3.7 400hp sounds better to me,

Still waiting to see what they look like though.

Anyone that knows me will tell you I drive it like gramps/grandma but for me I will always get a Pony with an 8. The reason for this decision is purely sound, nothing sounds as good as a 8 with a nice exhaust system ( well the odd 12 does lol ). If someone else wants a 6 by all means knock yourself out but I will never ever buy one.

Sounds like there may not be an option for an 8 after 2015, and I actually have a Shelby magazine, where Carroll is quoted as saying the future is in the 6 cyl engines for Shelby.

Hard to see the V8's going away to make room for the V6 seeing what they are doing with the current V8's with hp, and performance.... which doesn't show any means of dying. Time will tell i guess.

Shelby is a big fan of V6 Platforms. We all have to thank the V6 Mustang - its V6 Mustang sales that keep the Mustang alive. And with technology the way it is you can squeeze massive power out of the 6. BUT, it'll be a real shame in the V8 platform is ever a non-option. Hard to call it a Muscle car when you remove the muscle.

I'm all for it as a base engine, way more potential with something that has forced induction from the factory. I'd also like to see the 3.5 eco as an option too.

I can't see them dropping the V8. It wouldn't make sense especially considering the fuel economy they are able to get with them now.
