Ford GT Production Update
We (at Whiteoak) received notice that we will be getting one Ford GT.
The first 100 (including ours) will be built in late March and early April. Ford estimates daily production of 7 (per day, not per hour).
We had to fax in the order form with the top three choices of colour. The only options are the Lemans stripes at $6,000 and the Heritage package (Lt blue and Orange Gulf team colours) at $16,000!
$200,000 and they don't even guarantee the colour!
We sold ours to a customer in Mississauga for list price. Maybe we could have gotten more but this guy really wants one. He will be getting rid of a Viper to make room in his garage.
The second 100 will be built starting September 1. Apparantly there are changes in safety requirements that make it illegal to sell Ford GTs built after Sept. 1 in the U.S., but those changes do not take effect in Canada until a year later. Kind of ironic since it was the crash impact requirements that kept the GT out of Canada until now.
Someone in Canada will get the last GT built - second last if Ford keeps the last.
