2008.5 Bullitt

The speculation begins,
http://www.stangsunleashed.com/index...articleid=165&

I like the sounds of it.firejump:

Bubba_Lane 01-22-2007 04:09 PM

id hit it, i loved the other bullitt, i know i will like this one more.

1low03gt 01-22-2007 04:44 PM

I'm not happy that they are bringging another Bullitt Edition out do to the fact i really like the original '01 Edition, but i do like the sounds of what is going into it!! thumb:

SMOKEFAN 01-22-2007 05:13 PM

Good point, as nice as the Bullitt name is the should bring up new special models like maybe an Elearnor instead of a Bullitt. There is so many mustang sub names to use, they don't need to be recycling them this soon.

TheDutchGun 01-23-2007 12:10 PM

This Bullitt makes way more sense then the '01 though because the new style at least looks similar to the '68.

1low03gt 01-23-2007 05:58 PM

But the '01 had more then just being a stang. It was the reasoning, the meaning that made it special,or unique to some, and plus the McQueen family was behind (part of) the design, and production with Ford on the '01.The up coming Bullitt is pure profit. They know we will buy it,so they will produce it.I don't care personnally if the present stang is more visually comparible,it's still not the same as the original...the '01.It was fresh,in name as it was never used in Fords mustang line up ever,as other names are always being re used.
This is purely my opinion thumb: .

cruisin 01-23-2007 10:50 PM

I think it sure does have alot to do with the anniversary of the movie. Now if they made a new movie, why not. Its great no matter what they do, as long as they keep cranking out motors and some go fast goodies, bring it on. gives me more options down the line. Think how hard they are gonna work to get 400 hp put of the 4.6 NA and stay legal. Think ofteh possibilities, forget the cash they make.

cruisin 01-23-2007 10:54 PM

Lets not forget the possibility of the 6 speed either. The more of these they produce the better. The easier and more affordable it will be to get these parts for your own car. Ive only seen a few of the 01 bullits and I always wanted one because it wasn't all that flashy like some of the othe SEs that ford has put out. Id expect a BOSS and MACH1 before they are done with this platform

TheDutchGun 01-24-2007 07:30 AM

There already is a boss on the way with a 302 in it.

cruisin 01-24-2007 03:18 PM

where can I find some info on both that motor (specs) and the model (ie features)

No official technical data but basic info is there.

cruisin 01-24-2007 05:46 PM

I hope thats official, I know the Bullit is coming as there are parts listed in the dealer catalogue already, not available but part numbers have been assigned. The more motor options for me the better. As long as it fits, Im happy

Terminal Velocity 02-04-2007 12:08 PM

its going to be interesting to see if they can make those numbers N/A and still be streetable enough for a trip to the store for grocery's

i really hope they Dont make a mach 1 in that body style but thats my opinion

tear u a new 1 02-04-2007 03:35 PM

well i know this will get some guys panties in a wad but...... the new stangs look like totall ass and adding another classic [ bullit ] to the ass list is just sad. im just not feelin the new stangs body style at all. they dont have the wow factor for this kid but the mill choices are cool. [ there are some exceptions to the new stang but only a few ]

Tell me whats wrong with this. Its not the best angle but I'd really like to know why you would go so far as to say it looks like ass. Besides the Terminator, which you are fortunate to own, the designs between 94-04 were ugly as sin especially 99-04.

1low03gt 02-04-2007 05:30 PM

The '05+ have grown on me a bit,but i do know what i don't like about the '05+.For me it's all visual, and little details of visual.
The front portion in front of the wheel opening is way out of proportion compared to the back's proportionning(see pic),it's too short,or the back over hangs too much, and the rear is weak in looks,as does the front facia, plus the hood is way too plain. And i find that Ford went way to retro, but that is my opinion thumb: .But like i said, they have grown on me a bit.
http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ng-manu-05.jpg
If i did ever conceder an '05+,it would be this. The new Shelby GT.But i'm not sure if Canada is getting any??!!The facia is a big improvement over the stock GT's due to it's lower chin, and the rear valence somewhat helps out the weak look of the rear end, plus with the deleted spoiler, gives it the wider look it needs as the tailights make the new stangs look narrow compared to the front. The only thing i would change on this car is the hood,i would put a cowl hood, the rest of the Shelby is done tastefully.rockon: But no,i ain't trading up my '03 GT. smokejump:

That was my roommate's old car. He has since upgraded to a Speed6. Those speed protege's handled amazing but didn't have much guts.

cruisin 02-04-2007 11:17 PM

Tough to build them to go fast bust they really do like boost, till they pop

HEY NOW no need for that i just think ford should stick with the GT and the cobra and let the rest remain a legend fingers:

the 01 bullit and the 03' 04 ' mach should end there!
Ugly as sin? man have a heart

Just my opinion of course. I don't enjoy when someone says my car looks like ass either though. It seems as though us 05+ owners are almost treated as outcasts in the Mustang community.

The group i hang out with have never treated the '05+ like outcasts. And we have a few in our club!Weird???!!!!
As for the '99 to '04,i find them the perfect balance between classic lines from the past, but yet modern, and aggressive (hence the Rambo nickname it was given in the molding stages of it's design). But again, this is my opinion. thumb:
One thing we need to remember, and that is that we are sharing the same hobby that has a huge following, and is one as a family.....And that is the Mustang community as a whole, classic threw the '05+,we are one. rockon:
There is a different body style for everyones preffered tastes.:tup
So why are we calling the Mustang an a$$ :headscrat !!?? smack: :Weird: :bleh :bullshit:  :boohoo: :wtf: :banghead: slap:

Lets act our age,and enjoy this hobby that we love.
teeth:

tear u a new 1 02-05-2007 09:10 PM

it was an opinion on the newer stangs, it came out wrong and i did apologize. i wasnt calling them asses but i referd to them looking like ass to wich i did apologize. IN MY OWN PERSONAL OPINION, i like the 99 to 04.

cruisin 02-05-2007 11:11 PM

This happens when a new model comes out all the time. Ive seen it before ith other cars Ive owned. Once the next gen comes out, the current will fall right in line and there wil be haters of the new style. It just takes some longer to grow on to it Imagine when it was changed to the Fox, that was seriously different. It happens and its OK because the newest generation has all the new toys untill the next and then no more new toys(or at least very few). Somehow I dont think that came out clear

TheDutchGun 02-06-2007 01:29 PM

All is well. I apologive for taking it personally.

100% agree!!Why don't they produce the FR500 for the street. It is the Boss stang of today, and back then, the Boss came in street version for those that liked the trans am race series Boss.Same deal here,we have the FR500 race car,but no street version of it!!!! smack: That to me would bring a new collector car for the future. thumb:
Ford should stop bringing back those "BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT" names already, and bring fresh new names/ideas to the table to create new collectibles for our generation, and next generation.rockon:

cruisin 02-10-2007 05:26 PM

I would expect the bullit for the aniversary only. A GT350 as well, maybe even a new California Special for the anniversary of that too(rather than the regular one). FR500 would be sooo sweet.
