2012 Mustang Boss 302 to serve as pace car for final NASCAR Nationwide Race
The 2012 Mustang Boss 302 has yet to hit the streets, but at least one example will be on track this weekend. The Boss 302 has been named as the official pace car for Saturday’s Ford 300 NASCAR Nationwide race, which will be the final event of the year. The Boss 302 will be joined by its fellow 2011 Ford products including the 2011 Explorer, which will pace the Ford 400 Sprint Cup event, as well as the 2011 F-150 which will lead the field for Friday’s Ford 200 Camping World Truck Series finale.
Ford has released a few images of the Boss 302 pace car, and along with the lightbar on top, this particular car is a little different than the ones we have seen before. It’s the first time the Boss 302 has been shown in Yellow Blaze Tri-Coat, an optional paint color for the 2011 Mustang. We have to say that the color looks incredible on the car, really giving it a classic look, especially when paired with the black graphics and wheels. Other available colors on the Boss 302 include Competition Orange, Performance White, Kona Blue Metallic and Race Red.
Look for the Boss 302 pace car this weekend during the NASCAR race, and we’ll be sure to bring you more photos of the car if we find them.

Cool looking colour - interesting the way the sun picks up the yellow just above the drivers side headlight. Makes me wonder what that Kona Blue Metallic would look like. Some weird choices for the races the cars are going to pace - I would have picked the Boss for the Cup race and the Explorer for the Nationwide.

I like Comp Orange.Even for the originals,the orange was my fav.
