That would be cool. 69 or 70 fastback but make it like a resto mod Boss 302 with alot of the stying such as wheels and stuff from the new car.

agreed 100% One thing that has kept me from buying 60's stuff is from talking to owners as they say they don't stop, turn etc. I would definitely resto-mod the car myself

I like looking at old cars, but driving them just isn't like driving a new one though. A resto mod is the best of both worlds. I remember seeing a project a guy took on in MM&FF magazine. He transplanted a 67 Fastback body onto the Chassis of an 03 Cobra. It took alot of fab work but it looked great and performed like a new car.

that would be a ton of work no doubt but as you said the best of all worlds. If the older car is staying in the city I can see keeping it stock but otherwise no thanks. I know some will say they do not have problems on the long/longer trips but I would always have the breakdown worry in the back of my mind.

I agree as far as reliability but my main concern is safety. How many of these classics are rolling on 4 wheel drum brakes, manual steering, lap belts and a big block under the hood. Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me

in the old days the drums were fine as all the cars had them so they all stopped equally BAD
