I sent this toungue in cheek e mail to Ford of Canada…following is their reply


Hey there you folks at FORD CANADA.
Your US counterparts are having the 50th celebrations for Mustang all over…what about the enthusiats here in Canada…are we chopped liver??
How about something East & West…??
Are we not worth the effort after all the Mustangs we have bought and cherished from you??

They replied and asnwered nothing as you can see..so I asked again..wonder what brilliant reponse will come if any!

My name is Jennifer and I am with the Ford of Canada Customer Relationship Centre. I received your email inquiring on Ford Mustang’s 50th Anniversary.
I appreciate the time you have taken to write us and provide us your feedback regarding Ford Mustang’s 50th Anniversary.
The Mustang will launch in a staggered cadence around the world with the first cars being available in the U.S. in the autumn of 2014, Europe in early 2015, and China and the other Asia Pacific markets during the course of 2015. We launched the campaign in the U.S. on Oct. 14, followed by Mexico and Canada earlier this month. Europe recently launched the program and Asia just came online.
The majority of our volume will be in North America as it is today, but we do not provide specifics.
Your feedback is highly valued by all divisions within Ford of Canada, and serves to provide us with insight into areas where we may need improvement. When customers like yourself send us constructive comments, you help reinforce our efforts to build the finest automotive products in the industry.

Sorry for the initial semi sarcastic e mail. I should not have come across that way from a person in my position. I must advise however your response did not answer the question. What is Ford Canada doing for celebration events that we the Canadian Mustang consumer can support and attend on this milestone anniversary.

Do any of this communications reach the ears of those in a position to implement the required action?

Herbz..you know it is a slap in the face when a company this size, that we have supported financially with purchases casts us aside with thoughtless replies such as this. The executives are supposed to be"tuned" in to their customers. Customer service they would have us believe is "FORD ONE". What crap when it comes walk the talk boys you fall flat on your Executive faces!
I love my Mustang, but Ford Canada…this will be my last because you just do not step up to the plate when you should. I mean really this should have been a no brainer for this milestone!

Exactly def67..BUT WHY…
I blame the CEO's. They bring down the Huge Salaries..are all smiles when they are in the lime light and sales are humming. But to do something unique for the Canadian Consumer, its not even on their Radar.
Yet, if you and I can bring up the point, why have all the high priced Advertising specialists not addressed an obvious means to pull the community together…Just Plain Dumb and beyond!

"….launch in a staggered cadence around the world. " Oh brother, corporate-speak at it's best, sounds like a military coup more than a new car launch. Not trying to be a negative Nelly here old boy, especially to a retired law enforcement officer, I agree that the 50th for the Mustang is momentous, heck, I might even buy one. That being said, I'll play devils advocate for a minute. Ford Canada is like any other business, and the whole reason they're in business is to make money. Agreed. The hardcore enthusiast, like yourself and many others here, unfortunately, only make up a small percentage of the car buying public. The majority of people just buy them and drive them, and consider them as the gaping money pits they are. No denying your passion and monetary investment into the Ford Canada profit margin, but the Canadian market has never really warranted the same promotional type activities that they do south of the border. It's a tough pill to swallow, but the number of buyers complaining about the lack of any 50th hype in Canada probably amount to less than 5% of the total buyers for Ford Canada overall. If they have something planned great, but I can see the business case for not bothering. In your particular form of protest, if you stop buying Mustangs over something as trivial as some sort of 50th birthday party, the only one that's going to feel it is you, every time you see one and wish you were driving it. It will make no difference to Ford, because there's always the next guy who doesn't care about that sort of thing, who just wants a fast car that looks hot. Go for Facebook thing though, prove me wrong. As a retired law enforcement officer, you should appreciate that it's a mistake to pander to the small special interest groups. lol

You struck the core of the issue…Canadians are of little consequence in the big dollar picture and that 5% of us an even smaller picture. I will say however that the 50th Anniversary is not something trivial, which is exactly my reaason for making this point!
Ah well the bell has been tolled and FORD CANDA can……well you know the rest…so where is that Dodge Dealership??

In a similar vein American Muscle sent me an email yesterday that they are looking for online representatives (customers) to act as experts for their products. So I told them I would be interested. I received an email today (Thursday, 16 January) asking me to fill out the necessary form from Needle Point. When the Needle Point system realized I was a Canadian I was not allowed to pursue the application any further. So I sent the American Muscle contact person back an email advising her that I have spent thousands of dollars in American Funds for various Mustang after market parts and asked "What gives?" So far no response. With regard to the Ford 50th Anniversary issue maybe Ford Corporation thinks Canada is the 51st State of the Union?

P.S. I won't give up on the Ford Mustang as I am sure that Dodge and Chevrolet have the same view of those of us above the 49th parallel.

I guess they either don't recognize the 51st state, and or if you are Canadian…no matter, like you the thousands of dollars we spend on After Market Mustang products obviously means little. Imagine the money we will save in 2014!

You would think those so called Brilliant CEO types in Ford and American Muscle, would realize this type of "bleeding" is not good for their company health!!

Oh dear oxymoron.>>>>.Ford & Brilliant CEO..!!
