Hi David,
My name is Jennifer and I am with the Ford of Canada Customer Relationship Centre. I received your email inquiring on Ford Mustang’s 50th Anniversary.
I appreciate the time you have taken to write us and provide us your feedback regarding Ford Mustang’s 50th Anniversary.
The Mustang will launch in a staggered cadence around the world with the first cars being available in the U.S. in the autumn of 2014, Europe in early 2015, and China and the other Asia Pacific markets during the course of 2015. We launched the campaign in the U.S. on Oct. 14, followed by Mexico and Canada earlier this month. Europe recently launched the program and Asia just came online.
The majority of our volume will be in North America as it is today, but we do not provide specifics.
Your feedback is highly valued by all divisions within Ford of Canada, and serves to provide us with insight into areas where we may need improvement. When customers like yourself send us constructive comments, you help reinforce our efforts to build the finest automotive products in the industry.
Thank you for contacting Ford of Canada,

Did I miss something in this empty rply??
SOOO
Hi Jennifer

Sorry for the initial semi sarcastic e mail. I should not have come across that way from a person in my position. I must advise however your response did not answer the question. What is Ford Canada doing for celebration events that we the Canadian Mustang consumer can support and attend on this milestone anniversary.

Do any of this communications reach the ears of those in a position to implement the required action?

Respectfully
Det. Haddon
Major Crimes Division Ret'd.

herbz 01-15-2014 10:55 AM

They'll just continue to give you the run-around standardized answer. Say a lot without really saying anything.

BBYE 01-15-2014 12:25 PM

Herbz..you know it is a slap in the face when a company this size, that we have supported financially with purchases casts us aside with thoughtless replies such as this. The executives are supposed to be"tuned" in to their customers. Customer service they would have us believe is "FORD ONE". What crap when it comes walk the talk boys you fall flat on your Executive faces!
I love my Mustang, but Ford Canada…this will be my last because you just do not step up to the plate when you should. I mean really this should have been a no brainer for this milestone!

def67 01-15-2014 02:51 PM

I agree BBYE, pretty sad from ford, all they hype down south and jack for us.

BBYE 01-15-2014 03:21 PM

Exactly def67..BUT WHY…
I blame the CEO's. They bring down the Huge Salaries..are all smiles when they are in the lime light and sales are humming. But to do something unique for the Canadian Consumer, its not even on their Radar.
Yet, if you and I can bring up the point, why have all the high priced Advertising specialists not addressed an obvious means to pull the community together…Just Plain Dumb and beyond!

BBYE 01-15-2014 06:41 PM

Wouldn't it be interesting if uTube and Facebook picked up this little Thread!

"….launch in a staggered cadence around the world. " Oh brother, corporate-speak at it's best, sounds like a military coup more than a new car launch. Not trying to be a negative Nelly here old boy, especially to a retired law enforcement officer, I agree that the 50th for the Mustang is momentous, heck, I might even buy one. That being said, I'll play devils advocate for a minute. Ford Canada is like any other business, and the whole reason they're in business is to make money. Agreed. The hardcore enthusiast, like yourself and many others here, unfortunately, only make up a small percentage of the car buying public. The majority of people just buy them and drive them, and consider them as the gaping money pits they are. No denying your passion and monetary investment into the Ford Canada profit margin, but the Canadian market has never really warranted the same promotional type activities that they do south of the border. It's a tough pill to swallow, but the number of buyers complaining about the lack of any 50th hype in Canada probably amount to less than 5% of the total buyers for Ford Canada overall. If they have something planned great, but I can see the business case for not bothering. In your particular form of protest, if you stop buying Mustangs over something as trivial as some sort of 50th birthday party, the only one that's going to feel it is you, every time you see one and wish you were driving it. It will make no difference to Ford, because there's always the next guy who doesn't care about that sort of thing, who just wants a fast car that looks hot. Go for Facebook thing though, prove me wrong. As a retired law enforcement officer, you should appreciate that it's a mistake to pander to the small special interest groups. lol

BBYE 01-16-2014 09:23 AM

You struck the core of the issue…Canadians are of little consequence in the big dollar picture and that 5% of us an even smaller picture. I will say however that the 50th Anniversary is not something trivial, which is exactly my reaason for making this point!
Ah well the bell has been tolled and FORD CANDA can……well you know the rest…so where is that Dodge Dealership??
Thanks for your input Apocalypse Pony…appreciate the thoughts.

Ray Spencer 01-16-2014 05:57 PM

In a similar vein American Muscle sent me an email yesterday that they are looking for online representatives (customers) to act as experts for their products. So I told them I would be interested. I received an email today (Thursday, 16 January) asking me to fill out the necessary form from Needle Point. When the Needle Point system realized I was a Canadian I was not allowed to pursue the application any further. So I sent the American Muscle contact person back an email advising her that I have spent thousands of dollars in American Funds for various Mustang after market parts and asked "What gives?" So far no response. With regard to the Ford 50th Anniversary issue maybe Ford Corporation thinks Canada is the 51st State of the Union?

P.S. I won't give up on the Ford Mustang as I am sure that Dodge and Chevrolet have the same view of those of us above the 49th parallel.

BBYE 01-16-2014 06:11 PM

Isn't that a slap in the face Ray?
I guess they either don't recognize the 51st state, and or if you are Canadian…no matter, like you the thousands of dollars we spend on After Market Mustang products obviously means little. Imagine the money we will save in 2014!

You would think those so called Brilliant CEO types in Ford and American Muscle, would realize this type of "bleeding" is not good for their company health!!

Oh dear oxymoron.>>>>.Ford & Brilliant CEO..!!

Ray Spencer 01-17-2014 01:32 AM

It's all about corporate greed and where they can bring in the most coin. Obviously Canada is the backwater to these fools.

The taillights were the last mod....done everything else short of a supercharger.

True dat, and it's not just Ford, apparently American Muscle suffers the same geographic snobbery. Personally, I'd rather live here and not have all these little extras, than live there. Nice place to visit, but…….

green pony 01-17-2014 09:31 AM

Mustangs aren't built (assembled) in Canada, so Ford of Canada doesn't care about a 50th anniversary in my opinion.

BBYE 01-17-2014 09:33 AM

The USA..you can keep it..hassels at borders..$ value..attitude..nope Canada rules for me.

Yep they don't make em here but they sure like to sell them!
That said, you would think the Ford Canada CEO's would be aware of what is NOT happening in their ownback yard. They are in their own little glass bubble…that bubble has cracks, they are just to blind to see them!

Ah well..vented..thanks for chiming in guys!
Kojak

Ray Spencer 01-17-2014 09:49 AM

No problem BBYE I have always spoken out when something is obviously wrong. Wonder if the fools at Ford Corporate are aware that the Vancouver Club is putting on the 35th International Mustang Meet - August 28th to September 01, 2014 in Richmond, B.C?

BBYE 01-17-2014 06:57 PM

I see Dianne CRAIG CEO of Ford Canada is at Barret-Jackson being interviewed and was cooing over the latest Mustang she selling. (Ford that is)..YET NO FRICKIN events for the Big 50th in Canada…..you are getting paid to much Lady Di…..the joke continues…get in touch!!

Ray Spencer 01-19-2014 07:41 PM

Wonder if anyone has a rough estimate of how many Mustangs there are in Canada. If so we could send Diane Craig a message indicating that we are not chopped liver.

BBYE 01-19-2014 08:13 PM

We think the same. After seeing her atBarret & Jackson and all gogo about Mustangs I tried to send an email asking her to get in touch with reality. Could find a contact route to reach her. She needs to know how her Mustang community feels.

Guess you did not send a constructive comment.

Yep,Canada does not rank much in the global scheme with Ford.

BBYE 01-20-2014 05:09 PM

Hey TonyDee…funny thing is my comment was NOT constructive in the vien FORD's BS answer refers. I was not addressing anything to do with the build of the car but THEIR lack of commitment to the Mustang owners. ARE THEY DUMB or what?
Additionally they are to tunnel visioned to see my enquiry was an open forum for them to JUMP on and correct their HUGE over sight.
Where is this WONDER WOMAN Dianne CRAIG the CEO…I know..she is on TV in the US at Barret & Jackson…cooing over the MUSTANG she alleges she is selling..
How Two Faced is that…come on Lady get it togethe in your own country..geeezzzz!

def67 01-20-2014 09:44 PM

Guys. I kinda agree with you but remember, Canada = 30,000,000 people, 30 million, USA = ten times that, 300,000,000, 300 million people. Why do you think they are making the style more European(731 million people estimated )

Ray Spencer 01-21-2014 02:28 PM

I have a constructive comment for her that involves sex and travel.

BBYE 01-21-2014 05:00 PM

FORD of Canada Reply

You guys are not going to believe this. I sent Ford Canada a second message referring to this issue and mentioned the bit about their CEO Dianne Craig being so stunned that she was in the US but not aware of issues at home…

You won't believe the EXACT same answer I got..UNBELIEVEABLE!! …here it is

Sounds like Jennifer is a fembot with a standard script answer. Where is Austin Powers when you need him? Maybe he needs to shag Jennifer to get a proper answer.

BBYE 01-21-2014 06:38 PM

Hey just got hold of a LIVE customer Service Rep at Ford Canada. This gal was good. She was also shocked about the issue……interesting…will anything happen…probably NOT!

Ray Spencer 01-22-2014 12:56 AM
