Ford Ranger - It's All Over
Well Ford has decided to pull the plug on production for the Ford Ranger. I have never personally owned one, but heard a lot of good things about them over the years. Anyway, here is the link to the full story!

I had heard about this straight from a ford rep when I bought my 2010 (second ranger). I love these trucks and hate to see them disappear from the North American market. The problem is that the new ranger (4 door - will be sold in europe) is even bigger than the current and ford believes it will compete too much with the f150.
On the bright side, the ranger name will continue in europe and ford may one day bring it back here. If that happens I will be looking forward to an ecoboost ranger or diesal ranger.

I just thought of this; if this does well over seas and there is an outcry here for the ranger here I could see ford selling it here but reintroducing the f100 badge to put the ranger into the 'f series' of trucks. Just a thought anyway. Love that I5 diesel almost as much as I love the V6 ecoboost.

I have often thought about picking up the FX4 Ranger 4x4 but the fuel mileage was only marginally better ( 1 mpg city-1 mpg hwy) than the 5.4 i.e. 18/25 Ranger 17/24 F150. Like the article mentioned the pricing was not competitive anymore to boot as you can get a Ram Hemi 4x4 for a little over 25k out here. I always liked the look of the little one but alas woo too just hit 12,000 posts lol
