Ford to Sell Boss 302 Crate Engine for $12,000
#11
I really, really love the Boss 302 Laguna Seca Edition, and the May issue of Road and Track had an awesome article about the car. They took that car and tested it at Laguna Seca, and drove it for all it was worth for 12 hours straight, to ensure that it could withstand the continuous punishment that it would need to handle, in order to compete in a real race situation. $12,000 is a lot of money, and it may be worth it, I wont say one way or the other, but for me personally, I would go with the regular coyote 5.0 and and spend the savings on a superior Kenne Bell charger system. In my personal opinion, that would be a better/bigger bang for my money........just my opinion.

Im thinking out loud here, but for $12,000 I might be able to build a pretty nice 5.0 coyote... higher quality con rods, better pistons and top it off with a sweet SC.
A guy that lives a street or two away ( he stops by often when he sees me outside messing with mine and shoots the breeze with me) pulled up last week and says to me " Mario, something seems to be loose under the hood, see if you can spot anything, so he flies the hood open ( Im thinking, maybe he left the oil cap off the old f*cker lol) and there it was.... a sweet looking KB sc!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I asked him how he's liking it says want to go for a spin? Hell YEAH!!! Man, his engine just pulls like a raped ape! 3rd is especially insane...4th continues the awesome heave into hyper speed with the sweetest whine you could imagine.
Later he tells me he had the whole thing done at De Silva racing a known Mustang shop by Joe himself ( the owner).
So new high end pistons,H rods, throttle body, SC and a tune cost his south of $11,000. I would also go this route when I decide to up my performance.
Guys, I tell ya his mustang seriously sings with the SC. He tells me his next mod is updating his clutch assembly.

WOW, now that's what I call steep $$$... what is it about this SC that makes it worth $23,000.
It's gotta be more than the name "Ford Racing" I guess I'm just surprised that a Mustang SC could be more expensive than at least 2 crate 5.0 engines.
