Legendary SVT Officially a Legend

I assume you guys all heard the news SVT is history. There goes Ford performance.
"Time creeps up on every organization. Some are able to take the lead and bring home the checkered flag; others fall victim to the ebb & flow of modernization and the next best thing. Ford’s Special Vehicle Team (SVT) will be formally disbanded effective April 1, 2006. Not watershed news by any means though, as the fuse was lit back in 1992—it was only a matter of time."

God save the crew the ship is definately sinking!

As of Friday there was still no "Official" word from Ford on this according to the SVT Dealers, but I think more so then not, these stories are correct, Its def a sad thing to see go, I have been lucky enough to own 4 SVT's and the wall plaques will hang forever on my wall. Makes me want to keep the Cobra forever.

SVT was a major deciding factor for me between the Cobra and a WS6. I liked the support and idea that it was built differently and not just a body kit or something slightly different to call it another model.

It was nice to go to dealerships that knew about your car and how to work on it and when I asked dealerships about the WS6 package for the TA not one I talked to knew anything about it.

I suppose this may be the end of the line for me then. Not like I was looking at getting another car anytime soon but I was starting to eyeball vettes and this just pushes me more into that direction.
