Mustang RTR .... Seriously?

So I'm reading my monthly issue of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords and I come accross a small article written about the new Mustang RTR. This new "variant to the S197 called the Mustang RTR" is supposed to offer the perfect blend of style and power. From what I read it seems to be reminesant of a DECH or SALEEN Mustang. Lets investigate.

Upon a quick review of their website (Mustang RTR) I realize that power upgrades include a tune and K&N Airfilter .... wow .... a whopping +9 HP. Are you kidding me? And how much extra is this 9 HP going to cost the consumer, assuming anyone is willing to purchase this piece of junk. I mean the RTR-C with a Carbon Fiber body might look nice but at $135,000.00 ...... Seriously? The SN95 Saleen Wide Body Kit (also carbon fiber) and a heck of a lot nicer than the RTR was priced at $16,000.00 - and it replaced EVERY panel on the car.

I know I'm ranting a little - I just can't believe CDC will throw +9 HP at you - at an absolutly astronomical price - and act like they've just created a new Mustang Supercar. Ohh it gets better ... for you 6 packs out there the RTR website promises a V6 package shortly - I'm guessing the V6 package actually removes horsepower if the V8 package only adds 9.

Thanks CDC but NO THANKS! I'll stick to a "regular" GT or GT500 and add my own K&N air filter.

For anyone interested, I am now selling K&N air filters with 97_SALEEN_5.0 badging at an increadable price of $3000.00 - I'd like to thank my suppliers for offering these amazing prices that I can now pass on to you. P/M me if your interested. Just my opinion. What do you guys think? Rant over. Have a good day.

I agree that the price is way out of range. But i think both are nice looking rides. But heck,i think anything, and everything is way over priced today considering the amount of people that are jobless out there today with the economy in shambles. How can anyone afford any of todays hot rods.I know people that are still losing jobs! But that is another story.

Well I'm agreeing with you man, I think it's fricken rediculous. Personally I think they way the "improved" the mustang, actually made it look kind of gross... Way to beefy up front. Makes me feel like im driving a ricer. They overhauled the suspension and brakes but it is definitly an astronomical price. *facepalm.
