The SR-71 Ford Mustang Generates $375,000

wow..big money!

On Thursday night, the one-of-a-kind SR-71 Ford Mustang sold for $375,000 at the AirVenture show in OshKosh, Wisconsin. The car is a collaboration between Ford, Carroll Shelby, and Jack Roush. The S standing for "Shelby" and the R for "Roush". The auction benefited the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) Young Eagles program. Ford Motor Company has been a supporter of EAA and Young Eagles for the past 15 years.

Jack Roush, who had planned on being in attendance, was recovering from last week's plane crash at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Roush crashed while trying to land his Hawker Beechcraft Premier jet at Wittman Air Field in OshKosh.

that's not too bad for a one off stang if you think about it. i kinda expected it to hit the half million mark... i remember seeing one of the FR500 cup cars at barret jackson going for $480,000 IIRC.
lol hell i'd pay an easy half mil for that SR71 stang if i had that kinda cash. heck and i'd prob drive it like snakebite does his car.. almost never
