1995 GTS or GT???

Can anybody tell me how to tell a real GTS from a GT? I have just been given a lesson on GTS' and have come to the conclusion mine is a GTS. Is my car worth any more or any less if it is a GTS? I did some research, and found that GTS' come with 5 spoke pony rims, non-illuminated visor mirrors, no fog lamps, no pwr door locks or pwr windows, and some come with manual drvrs seats.(mine fits that discription) However I thought GTS' came without rear spoilers, but apparently they could be ordered with the spoiler for $250.

So, is my car a GTS or a GT?

Mustang GTS Information

There is some interesting info on this webpage. I don't know how acurate it is but it has build numbers etc. Mine is a GTS and has no options except a/c. I've never seen a GTS with a factory installed spoiler so the spoiler may have been a dealer installed accessory at that time. The GTS is much more rare than the GT but I don't think that will really make it more valuable. Rarity alone will not increase the value substantially, it has to be extremely desirable also.

Does yours have power drvr seat or maunual? I was told the manual seat is very rare even in a GTS.

Manual seat but it does have aftermarket racing seats. I assume they used the factory seat track but they could be aftermarket also I guess. The seats were in it when I got it.

I pulled out a 1995 Canadian order guide and on the Mustang manual seat was standard equipment. Power seat was optional on all models. Decklid spoiler was not a factory option and fog lights were standard on GT. If your car is a Canadian car I would say it is a GTS with a dealer installed spoiler.

I thought with the GTS', the whole point of them was basically a stripped down version of a GT. All the power still, just a very basic model GT

Did you ever solve the GT / GTS question, and did it make a difference in how much cash you got when you sold the car?

Yes that's what they were, just like the fox body LX cars. Most stuff was optional on them except for the upgraded seats, spoiler, foglights and a few other cosmetic things.

It is a GTS, and Yes I sold it, but as far as it making a differance on the price....the short answer would be no. I'm not sure if I could have got any more $ out of it, but I had made the agreement on the car prior to knowing that it was possibly a GTS, so being a man of my word, I did not back out on the agreement. Could I have got more money for it? I doubt it, as it was pointed out to me, rarity alone does not make it worth more!

In the end I was happy with the deal, and so was the new owner, so it's all good.

As long as you are happy that's all that matters. Any news on another Mustang
