1low03gt's new heart progress build.....
#16
Well, a little update. Some bad, and some good.
The donor 4.6L is not going in, but the heads are, everything else i am selling off.
The good.....
Pulled my heads off my 4.6, and she is still good to go.
Thank you Lord!!! This will safe huge time for me!
The bad.....
Reason i pulled my heads off of mine is that the donor had a little suprise..... seems like it might have hydrolocked on it's final day as there was water in the intake, intake ports, and cylinders, and also had one bent rod from seizing up. For what i paid for it, i am okey with it, and again cause for what i paid it for, pays for the heads in all reality.
So as for the build, gonna order some head gaskets, and head bolts, and clean the exhaust ports a bit on the new donor heads, can't believe how ruff Ford left them LOL.
Then next saturday gonna re assemble the new donor heads, and hopefully slap them on my short block. Then hopefully the following weekend have the cams in, and have it all timed up so i can button it back up together.
I guess i should've pulled my heads of first....... could've saved some extra cash, and went for the trick flow heads for the 2V LOL, and next time i look at purchasing an engine, i will make sure it rotates, and not go by how clean it looks, or on how many k's it has LOL!
It does show that it's a low miliaged engine inside and out minus being filled with water from being sucked in from the intkae, just had an unfortunate ending!

Yeah, not to bad over all. Very lucky really. I am pretty happy though that i don't really need to pull the engine out, that saves huge time for me. It actually got me really motivated .
But i do tell you this, i really had to motivate myself yesterday to jack my low a$$ stang up, and then motivate myself some more to crawl under it to pull the Bassani X pipe off. Luckily my exhaust comes out with simple hand tools still to this day for being a 2003 model..... thanks to e testing every other year, i swap back to the stock mid pipe, so that obviously helps out a lot by keeping those nuts, and bolts from seizing up on me. LMAO!
And i am glad i didn't pay the average price on what a full 4.6 2V usually goes for. I would not be a happy camper right now if that was the case!
I will be still good considering.
I will be selling of most of everything i don't need. The block with related stuff is already spoken for, now i need to unload the stock PI intake, and stock PI cams LOL
