2001 Cobra

So bit of a story.
My Aunt died two years ago. She left a 2001 black on black cobra vert to her son when she died. He's in college now and is looking to sell the car to pay some bills and because he can't afford the insurance. My mom and dad are probably going to buy it from him. If they don't I will as we'd like to keep it in the family.
What I'm wondering is what a fair price would be. I don't have pics yet put should get some soon. The car has sat for a while and from my understanding is in kinda rough shape. It has some scratches in the paint, has sat outside and apparently my cousin somehow tore the mirror off one side, not sure which one. I believe the km are between 70-100k.
I've briefly looked online and the only ones in our area are mint with low km's and guys are wanting 15000+ for those ones. Me and my mom chatted and she figured 6000.
Any input is appreciated.

If it's a little rough your number sounds right to me. It doesn't take long to spend 2-3 grand reconditioning.

Sounds like it will make a nice project car. Did she buy it new?

It's hard to tell without seeing but whatever it is go over and under it, a 15yr old vert sitting outside...could be lots of hidden probs.

Needs some work, but nice looking ride. being a convertible works in your favour for re-sale I would think, depending on the shape of the roof of course.

All over the place, but what sort of production numbers were there for that year ? (Too lazy to Google lol)

Is that mirror riveted on, or screwed on ? From the look of the A pillar, there was some sort of impact.

Looks like condensation in the headlights ?

Not trying to be all negative, its a nice ride, good story, with it being in the family since new.

Looks like a foglight is missing too.

I think 6k is fair if the km's are on the lower side of what you estimated.

It's pretty much a done deal. My mom is going to buy it for 6, and she promised that if my cousin ever wants to he can buy it back. He was only asking 3000 but we decided that was too low.
