Just curious was the car a private sale or from a dealer? What was the mileage when you got it?

I was, but I am looking at the positive side. Ive scored a good deal on a motor, that is more or less a drop in, and I will have a nice little sleeper with a more extra ponies than ur standard ragtop!

hey guys I thought I'd give you an update. The engine that I thought was a cobra engine is acctually a 1997 MKV III engine. even better, easier swap so I've been told I purchased a set of pacesetter long tube headers and will be getting a custom made x-pipe for the car hopefully will be done this week! I will have pictures and maybe a video too boot

IF it was bought from a dealer there are laws that protect the consumer and in Alberta a vehicle can not be sold as is. Everything needs to be declared. You should look into as the dealer may have to give you some financial assitance toward the repair.

welcome to Ontario...I actually sell cars...when a vehicle is sold as is..major issues must be declared, such as power train issues. Unfortunately if a power train issues occurs like this, you have to be able to prove the issue that the problem was there before. I have spoken with them, they have given me $500 towards the repairs.

Hey at least you got $500, which is a lot more than the Ford dealer here would have done, actually it's about $500 more than the dealer here would have done. This dealership is a joke. I actually make a road trip to Saskatoon whenever the Mistress needs servicing. How pathetic is that!

Weird, there is alot more liability on the dealers behalf in Alberta. AMVIC keeps things very fair for the customer.
