Well, I finally started the under hood cleanup. I used the autoglym products mentioned earlier and it looks much better now. Here is a before and some after shots. I still need to replace some rusted bolts and nuts and clean up the shock tower caps etc but this is a start.

Amazing how a little elbow grease and pride of ownership can make all the difference, it doesn't always have to be the big dollar mods, the little things can make all the difference. Well done, looks great!

It's been way too long since I posted on this thread. Life always gets in the way of hobbies. Not much to report on the improvement front but I did manage to buy a set of shop manuals on ebay. Complete set of 5. Getting myself educated on Mustang mechanics .

Looks like you're getting right in to it, the books are a great help. Do it right the first time and you won't have to do it again. For me it's the pictures, I just like the pictures in the manuals.

oop's wrong manual.

What kind of oil are you guys using? My shop manual says to use 5W20 synthetic and it appears that when my car was initially serviced by Ford dealers that is what they used (CXO 5W20 BSP). However, later in life it was serviced by Canadian Tire and Pit-stop and the invoices don't say synthetic (e.g. Castrol 5W20 premium oil) so I am not sure what was used. I am about due for oil and filter so need to decide what to use from this point on. Any thoughts?
